We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"The most valuable feature is manageability.""Nutanix AHV is very scalable. It can go to unlimited nodes.""The entirety of the infrastructure resides in the same product, which makes it easy to troubleshoot and investigate problems.""The solution is user-friendly and provides good virtual machine backups. The user interface gets updated when there is a new release.""For our markets here in Morocco, we are mainly working with server virtualization, and the most valuable feature is the software-defined storage and hyper-converged infrastructure.""This solution is very stable and it has been running for the last three months, with no issues.""The most valuable aspect of this solution is that you don't need to pay for it, it's free, as opposed to paying for a VMware license.""It is the simple non-consideration we get with this product that's great. It just works."

Cons
"Lacks integration with the cloud or other solutions.""There is no web interface with AHV.""If you have the need for special hardware like FibreChannel-Cards or such and there is no networked-way around it (such as you could work with USB Dongles via an HW-Dongle-Server of network), you have to use a separate hypervisor.""The management console needs to improve to make it easier for administrators. For example, to be able to reorganize our VMs, folders, and subfolders, similarly as it is provided in VMware. We can sort, manage, and organize VMs, folders, or subfolders in VMware.""In the next release of this solution, I would like to see support for containerization.""In terms of improvement, I think that they could have more partnerships with providers.""My storage use is doubled; if I am creating a one TB virtual machine then my storage policy will take two TB from my cluster.""When we need to share, publish, or encrypt something, we still need to perform it using the command line."

"The price of the solution is fair and if you want support there are additional fees.""The price of the solution can always be lower. However, the price of the solution is reasonable.""Some of the features required additional licenses.""AHV is free, it's an open-source solution.""We don't have to pay extra for Acropolis because it is built into Nutanix."

"Our customers incur a yearly licensing fee, one of three or five years, in fact.""It's a monthly subscription model.""The pricing is a little bit on the expensive side, and the licensing is on a yearly basis.""In my opinion, the price is not cheap, not it is expensive. It's average.""If I have three hosts, just three hosts, a minimum of three hosts plus the vSphere and Center, I'm almost spending close to $250,000 a year.""I think it's a fair price. We are using it on the production side, and everything is good from our experience. That's why I would say that the cost isn't too high. However, it would always be nice if it was cheaper.""The license of VMware is a one-time payment and you can continue to enroll in support for troubleshooting and also administer the licenses.""The license growth of vSphere depends on the growth of the visual environment and the addition of more hosts."
