We only have one full backup currently stored in DD Boost. If we had multiple copies of the full backup, deduplication and compression (DPU) would be more beneficial. 

However, in our environment, where space is a concern and retention is limited, DPU compression doesn't offer significant advantages. 

In other environments, with longer retention periods (up to 30 days) and multiple full backups, DPU compression can achieve a 7:1 or even 10:1 ratio.

There were no major challenges when integrating DD Boost with other products in the customer's environment. In our customer's environment, they were using EMC Networker as the backup tool software. 

We didn't see any integration challenges with their database host, other hosts, operating systems, or even the internet router. We didn't experience any problems with the hosts, including their Oracle database, SQL database, and okay, everything worked fine with Boost.

Dell EMC Data Domain Boost has kept our data safe.

Dell EMC Data Domain Boost is a software that provides an advanced integration with enterprise applications and Data Domain Systems. It gives the customer more advantages in terms of backup speed and performance.

We like the product because it is simple and works for most environments. It cuts down network traffic, and only the relevant parts move around because it is deduced and encrypted. So the less traffic that needs to flow, the better.

Because of how it functions we do not have to make additional investment in hardware and services.

An example of how this solution can improve an organization would be with one of our customers who has a data exchange server. Every backup takes two or three and a half-hundred gigabytes of storage. 

When the customer was using another backup solution, QNAP, it was taking seven hours to perform a full backup. When we used Data Domain on his environment, we found that the time was reduced to two hours and thirty minutes.

Also, with Data Domain we found that the data was compressed by thirty times. For example, with the other backup solution, the data was three thousand gigabytes, whereas in Data Domain it would be one thousand gigabytes.

Dell EMC Data Domain Boost has helped to reduce maintenance time and protect our data.
