Adobe Commerce Pricing

Adobe has defined its license into tiers, and that is based on the Gross Merchandise Value of the client through the website or platform. For instance, if you have less than one million USD GMV/ year, you will have a different price than five million basis points. Additionally, clients can negotiate with Adobe Commerce on the license based on their GMV.

We haven't discussed the community edition yet because we're not considering it. We're specifically talking about the enterprise edition. After Adobe acquired Magento, there were advantages in terms of service, among other things. The price of the solution increased after Adobe acquired Magento. At this point, we know the price of Magento and SAP, and while they may have lower entry tickets, they are ultimately comparable.

When it comes to the pricing, the community addition is free, but there's an enterprise addition which of course is paid for. With the community addition, you need to develop a lot of things from scratch.

The price of the solution currently does not make sense because there are too many platforms that are very low scale, easy to use, and plug and play, such as Shopify or WooCommerce. These platforms are really easy to start with. If you are a starter company, it does not make sense to go with Magento. If you are a large company, you would want a higher scalability solution, such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud.

At the moment, Magento is stuck in the middle of a nobody-wants-me market.

Magento is an open source framework. For the community edition, anyone can set up shop and use it. But overall what you have to keep in mind is just choosing the right solution within Magento also, depending on the scale of the business. That's the only thing they would have to keep in mind.

Many implementations were open-source. We also had a couple of enterprise-level implementations, but I didn't have visibility on the licensing cost.

This solution is cheaper than some of its competitors. However, the price depends on which country you are in. In some countries, such as Greece or some Southeastern European countries, the price for the client can be expensive. If you look at the center of North America and the North European countries, I think the price is very reasonable.

Magento CE is free. There is an Enterprise edition which offers a few specific features. I would advise you to stick to CE until there is a need for the paid Enterprise edition version.
