I was here during the initial setup, but I wasn't involved in it. We used an external company. They do our upgrades, etc. The reason for that is that we tend to stick with just the long-term support versions of the product. Apart from service packs, we don't do upgrades very often. We never get a deep experience of that, so it is more efficient for us to bring in this external company that we work with to do that.

We are not using any integrator or consultant for this. For its deployment and maintenance, we're rather limited in terms of the staff. We have one infrastructure person and me. I'm going to be in charge of maintaining it for the time being until I can increase my team.

We did not have any issues configuring it, even in my local machine. For the enterprise edition, we have a separate infrastructure team doing that. However, for at least the community edition, the deployment is pretty straightforward.

We used Pentaho services for two days. Our experience was very good. We worked with Andy Grohe. I don't know if he is still there or not, but he was excellent.

We had some external help from someone who knows the product and had already had some experience with implementing the tool.

For the deployment, we had people come in from Pentaho for a week or two. They were there with us through the process.

We implemented Pentaho Data Integration in-house. The current deployment has taken three months for the current set of requirements. We have another deployment in the pipeline where we are connecting other different data sources. These projects usually take a few months to complete.

It was done by an in-house team. A couple of issues we realized later were regarding memory configuration for the environment. This needs to be evaluated and fine tuned otherwise you can run into job failures with large amount of data. We ran into this issue with 'Commit' points and 'Sort' steps.

We did it in-hous. It's worth it to have someone in your company who knows Pentaho really well.

I was hired to do the implementation. I think it is necessary to have a good understanding of the product to implement is well so I would recommend, when not in-house, to hire the appropriate knowledge

In-house. The implementation is very simple. Data developers will not encounter difficulties to implement ETL solutions.

I handled the implementation on my own. I didn't need any help from a reseller or consultant.

I did this myself and we do it for other companies. All installations are easy, and you do not need to be an IT magician. 

We simply did everything ourselves, with a little aid from the community.
