Tenable Security Center Previous Solutions
Tenable is the most user-friendly solution in the market among the other competitors. I also use Qualys and Rapid7 in separate organizations.

Previously, I have used Tripwire IP360.
My company started using Tenable Security Center because of its reporting capabilities, including the number of reports and dashboards.
Previously we used Rapid7, but we switched after comparing it with the solution because it had some additional features that we needed.
View full review »The company was using OpenVAS, an open-source solution that is miles apart from Tenable.
At a previous job, I used Rapid7 which compares strongly to Tenable.

We used Rapid7 Nexpose. In our view, Security Center is a more thorough tool. It has more plugins to scan against a lot of vulnerabilities, and it is a bit more granular. Overall, it's been a better tool to use.
View full review »I have also worked with Qualys for a long time.
In our country, People are yet not comfortable adopting SaaS/cloud based solutions also, there are some government jurisdictions that require data to be within the country and an on-prem solution is always needed for the organization. Other solutions, Qualys and Rapid7, are mainly cloud designed. Tenable SecurityCenter is the only solution that can be fully on-prem for small to mid Enterprises.
Also, Tenable is better for compliance requirements in terms of regulations around vulnerability management. it has reporting on compliance with pre-defined checks, metrics and proactive alerts on violations for industry standards like CERT, NIST, DISA STIG, DHS CDM, FISMA, PCI DSS etc. and regulatory mandates. while it comes to other solutions i dint find the compliance feature as good as Tenable

We previously used their lower version of security management. It was their single-install product, Nessus. We were using the standalone, non-enterprise version.
View full review »We used Netsparker and Nexpose before. We switched to Tenable SC for better pricing and efficient scanning features. Additionally, it provides features for data security and cloud usage for clients who want to avoid sending information through the cloud.
View full review »Previously to using the solution the organization used Tripwire. The switch was made because Tripwire was not being updated often, the reporting was very bad, and the support was no good.
View full review »I have previous experience with Tenable Security Center's competitive solutions, and now I see why Tenable is okay.

We migrated from Nexpose. We switched because Nexpose is not a scalable product for an enterprise. Also, in most instances, SecurityCenter is less false-positive prone and the detection seems to be better in most instances.

For vulnerability management, Tenable SecurityCenter is the only one I've used in the past six years. Though we do use other tools in conjunction with it.
We've pretty much used Nessus for scanning, vulnerability management, and reporting, and that's it. And it does it very well. And then I use different tools for other things. I'm sure Tenable had that on the plugins for other things, but we don't use those.

ArcSight Express; my employers sought a less expensive solution. If I'd had any sway on the decision, it wouldn't have happened, or at least, it would have happened differently. The two products compliment each other well, but separately, they're designed with very different goals in mind.

We used to use Rapid7, but there were too many false positives. So, we switched to Nessus, but in Nessus, we faced the challenge of reporting. Nessus required a lot of manual work in terms of reporting. Tenable SC has been quite helpful for reporting.
View full review »I've used Rapid7 in the past and I've also used Qualys a little as well. I work with customers, so I go with whatever they want to use.
