We primarily use this solution for replication purposes we have, and to back up information in HR (High Resolution) mode.

I think they should consider lowering the pricing of entry-level products.

In addition, I think they should come up with a backup feature that is more product enrichment-based. It should be a full-fledged backup solution. It just is not there right now.

The stability of the solution is quite stable.

The scalability of the solution is good. You can scale up to maximum levels. We currently have 2000 users. This requires four engineers to run the deployment and maintenance of the solution.

It was complex, and not straightforward. The deployment took six hours initially to setup. Then, we migrated our virtual-physical servers to virtual machines and now coming projects were also built on virtual machines.

The pricing is justified. It may be a bit high, but the features are worth it.

I would advise others to go with this product if they want to scale their enterprise, definitely if there is no budget constraint.

vSphere's performance and stability are its more valuable features for us.

It's helped us to include automatization in all processes, thus reducing maintenance hours and increasing energy savings.

The price is too high right now.

I've worked with vSphere for 6years now.

I'm a vExpert so I don't have any issues with deploying it.

With v6, there were some stability problems, but after an update to a later version it's been stable.

That's one of the great things about vSphere -- its scalability.

Customer service is insufficient.

Technical support is outstanding.

I previously used Hyper-V, but it isn't stable and is a complex solution.

The initial configuration is very easy, and the deployment of centralized management is an assisted process.

We implemented it in-house.

You only pay for what you need, so there are a lot of features that we will not use.

If you want to sleep well, get vSphere.

• The cost, as we can run lots of servers on minimal hardware.
• Easy to recover from failures. For example, to replace a memory card, just pull out blade and replace it.

I like web interface less and less, and miss the client interface.

Licensing that makes it easier to justify getting the features I like, such as the enterprise feature where VMs auto balanced among hosts. This needs to be done by hand because that feature is too expensive.

Rock solid, just had one VM file decayed, but no other issues.

Use it very little, but can scale much more. Only have five or six blades, with 10-12 hosts, and 140 VMs.

They're good, friendly, and professional.

It was straightforward.

I had used it before at a former company two years ago, so decided to use it at my current employer, so I didn’t take the company through an evaluation process.

Make sure you have good SysAdmins who have experience with VMware, as this will save money.

When I came, it was already being used, but it helps with consolidation of our 750 machines. We have 50 ESXi hosts, and they’re all consolidated, being able to share memory, computing.

As a partner we have VSPP (VMware Service Provider Program in which we pay per memory usage).

The web client needs to be moved from flash-based to HTML5. I would like an app as well for remote access.

I've had hardly any issues. The ESXi host can stay up and running, and the hardware compatibility is very good, and we're moving towards a virtual appliance (vCenter).

It's easy to scale.

I rarely contast them as I had a terrible experience. The made me take down all the linked nodes, and I need to escalate if I want resolutions.

It's extremely easy, and you can set it up in less than a day. We do nesting virtualizitions and labs all the time.

Go ahead and buy it. I always go with VMware.

The stability in general, and the manageability of features like high availability, storage vMotion, and vMotion configuration via distributed switches.

vSphere is a core product in our services. Building our services on top of this product provides us the ability to create stable, enterprise level services.

Currently none, as the development of new features is already going at high speed.

We previously used XenEnterprise and RedHat Enterprise Virtualization based on KVM. Due to the stability and lack of features, we switched.

It was straightforward.

We did it in-house by our infrastructure team who are VMware Certified Professionals.

Using the vCloud Air Network program, we are in a usage based program. So no upfront investments are made for licenses.

My primary use case is defense hyper combat fan solutions.

The features I've found most valuable are that the enterprise direction is very complete and the data center provides almost everything you need.

One issue with the product is that the sentencing has changed a lot.

I have been using this solution for about a year.

I would rate this product as nine out of ten.

We use vSphere primarily for data center solutions. We migrated most of the physical workloads to a virtual environment. Even physical data center migrations were made possible because of VMware workloads. We had replication workloads using such technology for DR purposes. I've also deployed a Nutanix cluster with the VMware Hypervisor.

I like the standard features. 

The price could be better.

I've been using VMware vSphere for eight or nine years.

It's a stable product. I have a little reservation about their vSAN product, which I don't think is well suited for co-work loads that require performance. In that aspect, I tend to favor Nutanix, but other than for vSAN, I think it's a good product.

It's a scalable solution.

Technical support is very good.

The initial setup becomes simpler by the day. It's very easy. But it wasn't easy before and was pretty tedious. But these days, it's easy.

The deployment time depends on the workload and how large the environment is. If there are a lot of hypervisors and migration work, it could take anywhere from two to six days or more to install and deploy.

I work as an integrator, so I implemented this solution.

It could be cheaper. But not only cheaper because Nutanix's hypervisors are free of charge out of the box. You don't even have to pay for the hypervisor's enterprise version. Given that, I don't think VMware should be charging so much for the hypervisor. The hypervisor is a commodity now.

I would recommend it to potential users.

On a scale from one to ten, I would give VMware vSphere a nine.

The primary use is to manage all of our virtual machines/servers and the ESX host. It is performing well.

We use it to incorporate our infrastructure around one product.

I would like to see the UI incorporating all of the functionality that the thick client had.

It is very stable.

Scalability is great.

I have used the product my entire IT career.
