Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution is user-friendly.""I like Alteryx Designer's drag-and-drop feature, where you drag a component, configure it and quickly run it.""I have been using Alteryx Designer only for data modeling and data structuring.""It has an easy setup process.""The most valuable features are the integrated properties and integrated connectivity.""The solution is easy to integrate and user-friendly.""Alteryx Designer is easier to use for machine learning models. However, I am not very good at Python scripts which you will need to make the machine learning scripts.""Alteryx Designer's user interface is great, as it is very user-friendly."

"The general data ingestion is valuable. It's used for a lot of data. It provides about 90% of the data we use in our data warehouse without needing data engineering.""Fivetran is remarkably easy to use; I haven't encountered any other data integration tool that is as user-friendly.""Fivetran's most valuable feature is replication.""The simplicity of the solution is its valuable feature.""The portal is very intuitive and easy to use.""The solution is stable. We've never faced any stability issues.""The product is very easy to use and very easy to configure.""The most valuable feature of Fivetran is that it only synchronizes what needs to be synchronized."

Cons
"An improvement for Alteryx Designer would be faster bug fixes and updates.""The conditional join feature should be improved.""Alteryx Designer's cost should be improved.""Sometimes, while getting data from a third-party product, the solution works slowly.""Alteryx Designer's pricing and support could be improved.""It is challenging to view the data using Alteryx Designer.""It would be simpler if they provided a component where you could simply enter some parameters and see the results.""The price of the product is an area with certain shortcomings where improvements are required."

"The documentation can be laid out better to make it easier to find things, and I really wish there was built-in support for changing passwords. Some features don't work as advertised for the platform/repository database, and HVR is not always the fastest at getting results.""The environment must be more development-friendly.""Fivetran should add more connectors because its competitors, like Airbyte, have more connectors.""Some of the pain points we're looking at are trying to integrate some of the items in the Microsoft stack, so SharePoint and Excel, and then some of the newer Azure services.""The customization could improve because Fivetran gives more thought to people who don't want to manage analytics workflows rather than engineers who want to be able to customize pipelines more thoroughly.""There was a random change to our contract in a unilateral manner after the first year. The overall cost of using Fivetran was then unclear and this is the reason I would not recommend this solution.""The solution is very expensive. I would like to have a better integration of the solution with Azure.""HVR Software's technical support could be improved. Whenever we log a case, the response that we get from the support is a bit delayed."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It is too expensive for our country. We are a small country, so it is too difficult to sell this solution. With Alteryx Designer, if you want to automate the data and run the flows, you have to pay more money. We were trying to automate the flows, and we found out that people have to pay 600 more for this feature, which makes it even more expensive. We are a partner for Tableau, and we are working with Tableau Prep, which is like a mini Alteryx. In Tableau Prep, you can drag and drop and make new connections with the different data sources. You can make all the connections. You can also publish a source. You don't have to pay more money with Tableau. You pay like $5 per user per month to access it."
  • "Alteryx is a little bit expensive compared to competing solutions."
  • "Alteryx Designer is an expensive solution."
  • "I rate Alteryx Designer a six out of ten for pricing."
  • "The licenses are expensive, making it difficult to consider acquiring additional licenses to the existing ones."
  • "Each license is something like $4,000."
  • "I rate the price of Alteryx Designer as a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is extremely expensive, and ten is a highly cheap product."
  • "I rate the price of Alteryx Designer a ten on a scale of one to ten, where one is low price and ten is high price."

  • "I don't have the exact information, but I know it is high, and it is on a yearly basis. There is no additional cost for what we're doing. We're always open to doing things cheaper, so we might potentially implement a different solution."
  • "I've heard that the license for HVR is a bit costly compared to its competitors, but since it's reliable and efficient, I think the customer shouldn't be bothered about the cost."
  • "Fivetran is very expensive, and its database-driven pricing model is outdated."
  • "I can't give exact amounts because that's based on usage, but it's more expensive than some of its competitors."
  • "In the first year, we were given a very good discount. It was approximately 20,000 Euros per year. In the third year, we purchased credit for two years and the price was 33,000 Euros per year."
  • "I would say they're a little bit on the expensive side, and their contract process is not particularly good, but there is a lot of potential flexibility."
  • "The pricing model is okay and mid to large companies will not have an issue with it."
  • "The licensing costs are extremely high for the usage of somebody who has one GB or two GB of usage per day for real-time traffic. There are many other players in the market which are similarly priced or competitively priced. On average per month, it used to come around 12,000-15,000 USD, which is very high."
