Quotes From Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"The product offers very good analytics.""The product is very stable. The performance is reliable.""The most valuable features are the integrated properties and integrated connectivity.""The functionality of drag and drop is the most valuable. It is a very user-friendly tool that can be understood easily. My teams also work with other solutions, such as Integration Services, and these solutions are very difficult for people who don't have technical knowledge."

"The most valuable features are the metadata repository and the data warehouse application console.""The technical support is excellent.""The partitioning and optimization to help enhance our development is a very valuable aspect of Informatica PowerCenter.""The most valuable features are the monitoring tools and the reporting manager.""Ease and speed of building integrations, especially integrations between different applications, such as our Hospital Information System.""It has helped us monetize.""Can manage a huge quantity of data and provide reliability.""I like the automated scheduling feature."

Cons
"The actual usage part of it needs to be explained more. It's too vague right now.""The product could offer more connectors and more databases with support for the in-database function.""Its price can be improved. It is too expensive for our country. Because of its high price, we can't sell Alteryx Designer in this region. We used to be their reseller partner. There is also an additional cost for automating the data and running the flows, which makes it even more expensive. It will be very good if they can let users automate the data for free. Other solutions like Tableau provide this feature for free.""If the price were reduced then it would be more competitive."

"The multiple interfaces in Informatica PowerCenter are not great for the user experience. Because of this, I think it can cause confusion for any beginner developer.""There is a need to buy a separate license if one wishes to connect with some kind of SAP system, such as SalesForce.""Requires an established data center because there is no option for software as a service.""The documentation could be improved.""The only problem with this product is the level of complexity with the number of levels of transformation that you have to go through.""Its scalability can be improved. It is not scalable.""An issue which should be addressed is that the solution only allows us to do structured, as opposed to unstructured, data processing.""I would like to see it be able to import data from NoSQL."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"It is too expensive for our country. We are a small country, so it is too difficult to sell this solution. With Alteryx Designer, if you want to automate the data and run the flows, you have to pay more money. We were trying to automate the flows, and we found out that people have to pay 600 more for this feature, which makes it even more expensive. We are a partner for Tableau, and we are working with Tableau Prep, which is like a mini Alteryx. In Tableau Prep, you can drag and drop and make new connections with the different data sources. You can make all the connections. You can also publish a source. You don't have to pay more money with Tableau. You pay like $5 per user per month to access it.""Alteryx is a little bit expensive compared to competing solutions."

"Licensing costs are excessive and pose an obstacle to someone who lacks familiarity with the solution and wishes to have a proper understanding of it.""It's much more expensive, almost three times more expensive than most other solutions.""Our customers pay a licensing fee yearly.""The pricing is a little expensive, but in the same range as IBM and other competitors.""According to what I've heard and read on various blogs, it's quite expensive when compared to similar competitive products.""I consider this to be an expensive product.""The solution is in the middle price range compared to other solutions.""The price is mostly reasonable."
