We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Good documentation and very straightforward to implement and use.""Amazon ECS allows users to deploy and manage container applications like microservices or web applications on Amazon clusters. It's easy to install and designed for AWS targets, serving as a serverless container platform. It offers features such as automatic scanning, load balancing, and service discovery to help users manage their container applications.""Amazon Elastic Container Service serves the function it's supposed to serve.""In seven years, we have not faced a single second of downtime.""The most valuable feature of Amazon EC2 Container Service is its flexibility.""I like the tool's availability and automated scalability. I need to define the port numbers, and when I have a large load of requests, I can get automated scalability.""The most valuable feature is the volume size they offer.""It has an Auto Scaling group feature. We can use this feature to have an Auto Scaling group to specify a minimum and maximum count for all types of configurations. Based on the specified values, Amazon Elastic Container Service scales the required CPU environmental metrics."

"The creation of instances is very good, as is their interface which is not complex and is easy to use. With the dashboard it is easy to create a new instance and add your favorite things. You can add Debian, Ubuntu, or CentOS, or any flavor of operating system. You can select the RAM for your instance as well.""Service availability is the most valuable feature. It gives every user 100 percent uptime.""The most valuable feature is the static IP address, which has been very helpful for being able to log into the same address over the course of more than a decade.""The most valuable features are the simple scalability and ease of starting a new virtual machine.""The most valuable feature is that they are flexible and easy to get ahold of if I need something.""Generally speaking, I have not found any faults using Linode. For what we wanted, they provided a complete solution.""The most valuable feature is the domain settings page.""The number one thing we like about Linode isn't necessarily a service, it's their support. We've found their support to be absolutely fantastic. They've been so outstanding with their support. Every single time we call them and we ask for advice or help, they go above and beyond and it's really made us appreciate what they do."

Cons
"After the load balancer gets attached to Amazon Elastic Container Service clusters, I can't modify, remove, or replace it later.""The solution is expensive compared to other alternatives like Azure.""In the next release, they could add some customization options for high computer workloads.""The pricing could be a bit better.""EC2 is not self-explanatory enough.""They could provide easier options for third-party integrations similar to internal AWS services.""The product can become expensive if you don't choose what you want.""There is room for improvement in the pricing of Amazon EC2 Container Service."

"One thing that I'd really like to see is auto-scaling node pools for their Kubernetes. I don't think that they have that. That's a huge one and would be very helpful. Specifically, what I would like is auto-scaling node pools that would scale down to zero nodes, which is tricky. That's very important for certain use cases.""I would like to see more seamless integration with backup, although it's pretty easy to do.""The product must improve its security.""Right now, they don't have multiple data centers. They have limited data centers. I am currently using the Singapore and Mumbai data centers, but I am looking for data centers in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. They need to improve the availability of their data centers and partnership engagements with cloud Panda solution providers, like us.""I don't know how all of their services work, but my understanding is that they're not offering the entry-level machine for someone who just wants to own their own web page.""It would be helpful if they provided the additional Linux distributions that I prefer using. But there is still a workaround. I can do it without direct support. It's a bit more complicated, but it can still be done.""I've had some difficulties with some of their IP addresses being banned by certain mail servers.""They could have more international servers. There are certain places throughout Europe and Eastern Europe which are very open to doing a lot of technology business, such as Romania. Romania is very open to technology. At other service providers, I have stuff in Romania. I think there are some Eastern European locations that would be more open to it. So, if they could have more European points of presence, that would be more helpful."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "I don't exactly deal with the pricing. We have a separate Infra team that deals with the pricing. They are more into the scalability part. Based on our requirements, the pricing will increase. The automation teams will test some of the benefits to see how can we can optimize the cost. They'll have a security manager connection and some alerts based upon the usage to see how to reduce the building cost based upon the installations."
  • "Our client is paying between $400 and $500 USD per month for this service."
  • "I don't know the exact amount we were charged for our use of ECS, but I do know that it can be costly, especially when there is a bug or an error caused by default configurations."
  • "The tool's licensing is monthly."
  • "The pricing is good."
  • "The solution's cost could be reduced."
  • "On a scale of one to ten, where one is low price and ten is high price, I rate Amazon EC2 Container Service’s pricing a four or five out of ten."
  • "The platform is inexpensive."

  • "I pay just over £20 per month and have done so ever since I started eight years ago, which to me is good value."
  • "The pricing model is very simple. I like the simplicity of it, starting at $5, then doubling as it goes up from there. That is a brilliant idea, and it is not complex at all. It is about as dead simple as you can imagine. So, if you want to double what you have, then you double your price, pay the money, and reboot. It is done. It's that simple. You can't beat that."
  • "One key difference is that pricing is very hard to come by and to understand with all the bigger companies. Their pricing models are so weird and it's hard to figure out exactly how much I am going to pay for this kind of service. Everything is piecemeal. With Linode, it's simple and straightforward. You know exactly what you will have to pay at the end of the day."
  • "Compared to other service providers, like AWS and Google, the cost of services are much less and more affordable. We are saving about 90 percent by going with Linode versus other cloud providers."
  • "The pricing model is very simple. If you have very small applications, you can use the plan which costs $5 per month. That gives you 50 GB of memory and almost 1 GB of RAM. If you need more than you have to select the next plan which is $10 per month, which has about 70 GB of data and 2 GB of RAM."
  • "The value for the price is really good."
  • "Pricing is very good and flexible, according to the resources required."
  • "Being that they are small, their prices are slightly higher than the large providers like Amazon if you compare raw computing power."
