We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"The solution is easy to learn and with it, it's easy to replicate knowledge.""Its integration with source control is very refreshing. There could be a little bit more maturity around how to do some of the features, but not having to go outside the app, not having a separate set of procedures, allows you to check in and check out right from within the app. You can make edits and uploads and undo your checkouts.""It really does have a great dashboard. It has Bot Insight, it has MetaBots, and IQ Bots. It has so many features where it can read a file and loop.""MetaBots are useful when connecting to websites or to forms with objects that need to be captured.""MetaBot is the most valuable feature. Other products have robotic functionality but MetaBot is a kind of functionality by which code is created... so business users who do not have coding knowledge can drag and drop.""We have seen more efficient processing and less number of errors due to quality control.""We have staff who have been moved out of the mundane tasks and are now doing value-added activities.""One of the features that we have used the most is an action in the Workbench called Object Cloning. We find that very reliable and very useful for implementing different business processes."

"The most valuable feature of Blue Prism's Virtual Workforce is that it is quite stable.""The product itself is quite mature.""I would say that the stability of Blue Prism is superior to any of the competing products because of the maintainability of the features and the openness of the tool.""Once it does the monitor, it collects the respective data and creates an output that is required for reconfiguration.""The user performance is the most valuable feature.""This solution comes with a lot of good features.""Ability to see the blueprint of the design executed alongside the actual process.""The ease of building automation and the development environment"

Cons
"We had several issues when trying to connect the different components, due to our firewalls. They were eventually solved by our internal IT and the AA technical team.""Regarding the UI, once you're in some of the screens there are fixed dialogues. They are a set size, so there's a lot of horizontal scrolls and vertical scrolls.""If I want to do something that is more purely business-related and is somewhat complex to write or is nuanced, I sometimes have trouble implementing that inside of the Automation Anywhere script. I feel limited at times with some of the looping and some of the branching and some of the ways to make procedure calls when I have a complex business issue.""The schedule queue needs improvement. When one task fails, everything else gets stuck, requiring manual intervention to clear the problematic schedule and trigger the other tasks.""There is room for improvement when this application is used in a Citrix-based environment.""We have a few issues which have persisted. These end up restarting the machine. We are hoping in version 11.3 of Automation Anywhere, our compatibility and infrastructure issues will be resolved.""If you work with image recognition and custom objects, there are stability issues.""The main things I've found that could be better are small things that can be annoying when you're using them a lot. I would recommend they add a feature where, if you mark the start of an "If" sentence it will highlight the end of the "If" sentence. That would make it easier to get a better overview."

"Several things need improvement, like ease-of-use, adding tended robots, adding process recording, and updating the look and feel so it seems modern.""The pricing of the solution could be improved. It's a bit expensive right now. They should work to make it more competitive.""Blue Prism is slightly difficult for the non-technical user.""The main issue is screen scraping with Blue Prism gives us a big challenge because we need to define which technologies are web-based have been built instead of by itself discovering the technology that it is built on.""The cost is a bit high. Other tools are much cheaper.""Selecting the right business processes that are stable enough to automate can be challenging.""There's a need to deal with unstructured input with RPA.""Lacking advance features like CIO and optical character recognition"

Pricing and Cost Advice
"Pricing is too high for small-scale groups. The Control Room yearly fee is high, making it difficult to break even.""Automation Anywhere is competitive... Pega is somewhat comparable, but Pega also requires a lot more infrastructure and a lot more experience to get up and running.""Automation Anywhere is costlier than the general competition. That is aligned with the share of the market it has.""They're very flexible around pricing and licensing.""They give us a good deal on the licensing because we bundle and customize things. If you ask to get a bulk business deal, you will receive more benefit. If you take other products from the suite, like IQ Bot, you can also receive a deal on the licensing.""We just did a round of price comparison on a global scale and found it's so hard to compare the license prices. But, Automation Anywhere, in general, is on the same price level as the other vendors, a bit lower in some cases.""If you look at the capital expenditure, Automation Anywhere is number two to UiPath. But if you take a long-term view, on a scalable model of a large number of bots coming out, it slowly goes on to become the costliest tool. There is something they can do about that. The capital expenditure goes out right at the point of buying the tool. For Automation Anywhere, I would need to spend $20,000. UiPath can give me something for $6,000, while Blue Prism will come in at $300,000.""It's cheaper than other similar solutions."

More Automation Anywhere (AA) Pricing and Cost Advice »

"Pricing can be negotiated in situations where there will be heavy usage.""The licensing structure is complex and the minimum contract length is three years.""We pay about $15,000 per quarter in licensing costs. We don't have to pay for any other extra costs. There isn't, for example, an extra cost for technical support. We just pay the licensing.""There are many RPA solutions available from different vendors and the pricing for Blue Prism is competitive.""Annual licensing costs were somewhere between $5,000 - $10,000 for the development tool. For the control tower, I think fees were about $50,000 annually."
