We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable aspects of Omada Identity for me are the automation capabilities.""It has a lot of out-of-the-box features. It is flexible, and there are a lot of possibilities to configure and extend it. It is user-friendly. It has an interface that is end-user or business-user friendly.""Surveying is a valuable feature because it allows us to import data and see who has access to what data, for example.""Omada's user interface is elegant and easy to work with. I like Omada's ability to automatically generate accounts for new hires and allow them access to all required systems by established policies. Around 80 percent of workers can start working immediately on their first day without requesting further access.""I'm not using Omada, but the interface is easy to use and gives you a solid overview of your identities.""The thing that I find most valuable is that Omada consists of building blocks, which means that you can configure almost anything you want without using custom code, making it pretty easy to do. It's possible to connect to multiple target systems and to create one role that consists of different permissions in the different target systems. So one role in Omada can make sure that you have an account in three different systems.""Two valuable features of Omada Identity are the ability to discover accounts and link them to identities, and the automatic disabling of inactive accounts or identities.""The customer success and support teams have been crucial."

"It has good endpoint support and endpoint connectivity to different versioning endpoints.""The product’s most valuable feature is flexibility. It can be customized as per the customer’s requirements.""Using the implementation guide, I was able to implement the solution with ease.""The scalability potential is there if a company needs to expand.""I like that it is easy to diagnose. It has a version of a virtual appliance so we can download it, run it, configure it, and it would take about 10 to 15 minutes to configure the cluster or so.""It offers a nice price. It's mid-range.""Out-of-the-box the product has a lot of opportunity for configuration and sophisticated identity management capability.""There are many valuable features within the solution. The product is easy to customize. It’s also highly secure."

More Symantec Identity Governance and Administration Pros →

"Some of the valuable features of the solution are the easy integration with processes, such as Single Sign-On. Overall WSO2 is straightforward and does not need customization.""The keystore feature has been most valuable for us.""The single sign-on procedure itself, as well as the ability to connect to external user sources such as Microsoft Active Directory and LDAP servers, are the solution's most valuable features.""I would rate the solution's stability eight or nine out of ten.""It's very easy to implement everything.""Comprehensive ecosystem.""The product provides easy integration between API manager and IT server components."

Cons
"Omada could make it a bit more convenient to send emails based on events automatically. Having that functionality is critical for us to maintain transparency.""The solution should be made more agile for customers to own or configure.""One thing that we are not so happy about is the user interface. It is a bit dated. I know that they are working on that, but the user interface is quite dated. Currently, it is a little bit difficult to customize the user interface to the need of the business, which is a little bit disappointing. It needs it to be a little bit easier to operate, and it should have a better user interface.""The backend is pretty good but the self-service request access screen, the GUI, needs improvement. It's an old-fashioned screen. Also, Omada has reports, but I wouldn't dare show them to the business because they look like they're from 1995. I know they are working on these things and that’s good, because they’re really needed.""The UI design needs improvement. One or two years ago, Omada changed its user interface to simplify, but the simplification has not really kicked in.""The user interface could be improved. The interface between Omada and the user is mainly text-based.""In our organization, all the data is event-driven, which means that if an attribute is changed in the source system, it can be updated within a few seconds in all end-user systems. There is room for improvement in Omada regarding that. Omada is still batch-based for some processes, so sometimes it can take an hour or even four hours before the execution is run and the update is sent.""The account management integration isn't bad, but it isn't plug-and-play like Microsoft Azure. You need some deep development knowledge to set up the connectors."

More Omada Identity Cons →

"The solution is not the best or the fastest available.""The drawback with the CA Identity Manager is they don't have a connector to HR systems like SAP, or PeopleSoft, or Workday. That's a major drawback with the CA Identity Manager. For that we have to do lots of custom quoting to get data from HR systems. And if they could connect it to GRC systems, that's good to have in an identity product.""I find the API boring. I also faced issues while integrating with CA SSO.""The Identity tool needs to do more kinds of reporting for audit purposes. It doesn't really track any of the metrics that are useful to us, at this point.""The reporting functions.""The support from Symantec Identity Governance and Administration could improve.""The product works slowly while accessing cloud-native solutions.""The product's technical support could be better."

More Symantec Identity Governance and Administration Cons →

"There needs to be a good support model and easy-to-understand documentation.""I found the initial setup to be very complex.""The solution could improve its development from a user perspective.""This solution requires extensive knowledge to be used effectively as certain areas of its use are not user friendly.""This solution does not have BPM workflows already integrated, we had to integrate the BPM module externally. They do not provide full-featured auditing and certification modules out of the box.""Sometimes working with the code is difficult because I search for documentation about the code and how to work with the code, which is where I believe they should improve, by providing some documentation on how to work with the code.""The high availability architecture has to be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is too high for SMBs."
  • "Omada continues to be very competitive on pricing, especially on the Omada cloud product."
  • "The initial total cost of ownership to implement Omada Identity is not small. The TCO for the implementation is as high as any other solution. However, the cost of maintaining the solution is at par or lower than competitors, including adding more features or maintaining the system after the initial deployment or installation to make sure that they are available for users to use or extending the functionalities of those activities. Those maintenance costs are lower than other vendors, but the initial cost of getting the system installed is still high."
  • "It is licensed per managed user per year."
  • "There were a lot of administrator, partner, and supplier accounts for people who were no longer working for us but still in the system. So, we reduced the number of users no longer with the company, which saved us some money on licensing."
  • "It's a fair price for the on-premises system. Compared with what we had before, it's much cheaper and we get all the modules in one. We tried to go with the cloud, but it was far too expensive."
  • "From an on-prem point of view, the cost is quite transparent and reasonable. The direct cost is primarily for licenses and maintenance on licenses."
  • "My client deals directly with the Omada Identity team in terms of licensing. I never look at pricing, so I'm not aware of how much the solution costs, but it's worth the money. Often, when you begin to use Omada Identity and it takes a while to set up, it'll be irreversible, and you'd depend on and focus more on the functionality of the solution, rather than its price tag."

  • "Compared to other options, CA products are not that expensive."
  • "The price is based on the number of users."
  • "Pricing and licensing models are adequate and reasonable."
  • "The connector is free, and bundled with the product."
  • "I do not recall the approximate prices or licensing models, although I do so that it was priced per user number."
  • "The product has a good price in competition with another product with the same solution."
  • "Symantec keeps increasing the price. I rate its pricing a seven on a scale of ten."
  • "The price is flexible for our existing customers."
  • More Symantec Identity Governance and Administration Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "We have to take their support, but that is a minimal charge if I'm comparing it to other identity managers."
  • "I have found the solutions license is priced competitively compared to others."
  • "At this time we are working with the open-source version."
  • "They should bring in some good pricing models to host the marketplace."
