We performed a comparison between Check Point Harmony Endpoint and Trend Vision One based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."I like FortiClient EMS. FortiEDR has a lot of great features like lockdown mode, remote wipes, and encryption. I can set malware outbreak policies and controls for detecting abnormalities. You can also simulate phishing attacks."
"It is a scalable solution...The initial setup of Fortinet FortiEDR was straightforward."
"Additionally, when it comes to EDR, there are more tools available to assist with client work."
"This is stable and scalable."
"We have FortiEDR installed on all our systems. This protects them from any threats."
"It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."
"It is very easy to set up. I would rate my experience with the initial setup a ten out of ten, with ten being very easy to set up."
"The stability is very good."
"The biggest value we found was ease of deployment. I haven't really used it much, so I can't really comment beyond that. I haven't used it much, but it's working."
"The most valuable feature is Harmony Endpoint's encapsulation system which captures the whole system and protects it against other functions. It is really good for the Check Point Harmony specialists."
"The most valuable feature of Check Point Harmony Endpoint is centralized management."
"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"Check Point Harmony Endpoint has one of the most user-friendly dashboards I've seen."
"I found the fact of working across multiple attack vectors easy and more beneficial."
"There's the possibility of being able to do the administration from the Check Point portal, maintaining control and visibility of the different security events at all times."
"Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"We had previously deployed on-premises, and all we had to do was access the designated console and click a button to migrate all on-premises agents to cloud agents."
"We can scale the product as needed."
"XDR provided a much more deep view into what is actually happening."
"The zero-day vulnerability is valuable."
"Drilling down further, we can analyze how our users are utilizing their workstations, including the websites they visit."
"We haven't had any issues with configurations or customizations."
"What I like the most about Trend Micro XDR is that the detection and response domain extends to the network. It goes beyond the endpoint and includes data about the network which lets you pinpoint patient zero as well as the root cause of the attack."
"It helps us with investigations."
"We'd like to see more one-to-one product presentations for the distribution channels."
"We've had a lot of false positives; things incorrectly flagged that require manual configuration to allow. Even worse, after we allow a legitimate program, it sometimes gets flagged again after an update. This has caused a lot of extra work for my team."
"The EDR console should have more extensive reporting. You shouldn't need to purchase FortiAnalyzer. It should be included in the EDR part. The security adviser cloud platform could be improved with more options for exclusive or intensive rules for devices."
"They can include the automation for the realtime updates. We have a network infrastructure with remote sites. Whenever they send updates, they are not automated. We have to go into the console and push those updates. I wish it was more automated. The update file is currently around 31 MB. It could be smaller."
"To improve Fortinet, we need to see more features and technology areas at the endpoint level introduced."
"Detections could be improved."
"I think cloud security and SASE are areas of concern in the product where improvements are required. The tool's cloud version has to be improved in terms of the security it offers."
"Cannot be used on mobile devices with a secure connection."
"Infinity Portal sometimes requires more performance."
"We know that Check Point has a very good database about threats even Check Point tries to make this EDR stable still there are some issues we were facing after upgrading or taking TAC to help its got resolved but Check Point really needs to work on metadata."
"As I understand there will be a URL filtering feature included with the browser agent in the future. This will allow URL filtering without the need for a Gateway Device. This is something I am looking forward to and would be a great addition to list of features."
"Customization of UI should be a little better in terms of application UI and messages that are displayed when something is blocked or non-compliant."
"The software requires considerable resources and can strain less powerful computers."
"I'd also love to see them add full MDM support, but I appreciate that that's not the product market. If it did come in, I'd be more than happy to look at additional modules. It was probably one of the easiest products I've ever had to deploy it, but if it's not capable of doing MD, then that's going to impact its usefulness to us."
"The solution has limitations if it's hosted on-prem or as a SaaS."
"They should provide bandwidth regulation, so we can monitor and regulate bandwidth."
"The area for improvement is mobile security. We have just finished a proof of concept for Zero Trust Secure Access. We withdrew from this PoC because it does not have that many points for proxy across Europe. Our organization is across Europe... At this time, they are only located in Germany and the UK."
"The information captured by Trend Vision One needs to be more detailed."
"I'd like to see alert time reduction so that they show up on the dashboard faster."
"The integration with third-party tools and with on-premises Active Directory needs improvement."
"It would be ideal if they could improve the control of connectivity between sensors."
"The automation capabilities on-premises could be improved, as we currently have to manually activate servers and push policies."
"While blocking an IP address restricts access for 30 days, it eventually becomes accessible again."
"I would like to have more integration with mobile device management."
