Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution is dependent on the network bandwidth. For example, if they have a bandwidth of 10Mbps the solution will run a little heavier. If the bandwidth is good the solution runs well.""The most valuable aspect of CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is its instant block replication feature. This allows us to perform live block verification and eliminates the need to concern ourselves with recovery point objectives. This capability is particularly advantageous for critical workloads.""CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is a fairly stable solution.""The setup is pretty straightforward.""It provides our disaster recovery solution. It works fine in our tests.""We went from an organization with minimal to no disaster recovery. I was able to spin up the disaster recovery environment with AWS rather quickly and meet business requirements.""We have never had any issues with scalability.""Technical support has been very good. They usually respond quickly to our requests."

"Nutanix can converge legacy-style rack mount servers, so it is highly scalable.""I like the autofill-over feature and the simplicity of the solution.""We find the ease of use valuable.""Nutanix has its own backup system known as HYCU, as well as its own virtual server.""Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten...Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten...I rate the technical support a nine out of ten.""We use this solution as an integrated backup solution and it is integrated from the backup provider to the Nutanix solution."

Cons
"Definitely there should be better logging. From a customer perspective I would like to see more logs on what is happening. If there is an issue, I would like to know what the problem is. Right now, we have to depend on the support of the vendor to check and let us know, because we don't have access to a lot of logging information.""The bandwidth is a constant upload communication to the AWS DR environment, so if you do not have the proper bandwidth, it will definitely eat up your internet line.""The failback could be improved. It should be more intuitive.""Sometimes a server will get a bit behind. ""I would like to see better support for creating and working with archives.""The solution's network setup and a lot of the control tower setup could be improved.""The user interface, customer support, and the recovery time for the current customer query could use improvement.""The only thing I would like to see is, they don't have a formal ticketing system. There is no way I can go back and see what questions we had six months back, what issues we had, and how they were resolved."

"The solution's setup process should be simplified.""Nutanix is not secure enough, and it needs to be more resilient.""It could be cheaper.""This solution could be improved with regards to the hosts that integrate with the platform itself. Each of the hosts integrated with the storage and networking only provide one instance of a backup.""The price of the product is an area of concern where improvements are required.""I would like to see the multi-cloud improve."

    Overview

AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (AWS DRS) minimizes downtime and data loss with fast, reliable recovery of on-premises and cloud-based applications using affordable storage, minimal compute, and point-in-time recovery.

Set up AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery on your source servers to initiate secure data replication. Your data is replicated to a staging area subnet in your AWS account, in the AWS Region you select. The staging area design reduces costs by using affordable storage and minimal compute resources to maintain ongoing replication. You can perform non-disruptive tests to confirm that implementation is complete. During normal operation, maintain readiness by monitoring replication and periodically performing non-disruptive recovery and failback drills. If you need to recover applications, you can launch recovery instances on AWS within minutes, using the most up-to-date server state or a previous point in time. After your applications are running on AWS, you can choose to keep them there, or you can initiate data replication back to your primary site when the issue is resolved. You can fail back to your primary site whenever you’re ready.

Nutanix Mine Integrated Backup is a turnkey solution that makes backup infrastructure simple and invisible by combining the Nutanix Cloud Platform technology with leading enterprise backup software for dedicated data backup and recovery.
