We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Integration with Netscaler and Scoutbees can provide a proper end-to-end analysis of the user's experience and give us a real ROI.""The most valuable features in ControlUp are endpoint monitoring and the many features that are available.""The script-based actions have allowed us to extend the core reporting capabilities.""ControlUp has an easy installation process.""It has a great career time monitoring tool.""It shows you so many details of what's going on in that log-on that, if there's a problem, you can identify it in five minutes.""The most valuable feature is the granularity of visibility into the resources that are in use by our applications.""Security, uptime, and reduced capital expenditures are the main reasons we use ControlUp. So basically, the money that we consume is based on the amount of time we are using a service."

"We don't have any complaints about the software. According to my team, it's a very good tool that's very intuitive.""The intention and the idea of the filter is great.""The product has a very good graphical interface.""The alerting feature is very good because it allows you to set MOS alerts at various network junctures or data points.""One of the valuable features is the ability to create CLI scripts on the fly to fix any issues. We were using it for QoS modeling to ensure that we were properly modeling QoS, and it basically said here is what you need to fix to get this QoS done, whether it is ACL or something else. It would either push or recommend. If you have the right credentials, you could also push. It is very good if you are a Cisco shop. It gives you reporting, latency, and bandwidth utilization for your applications, so you can do good capacity management planning. There are a lot of pieces that LiveNX can give you. It is a total NPM solution for SD-WAN.""Its analytical capability is really good.""All in all, LiveAction LiveNX has become an indispensable tool for maintaining and improving our network's reliability and performance, ultimately supporting our organization's goal of providing timely and dependable delivery services."

Cons
"Integration is always a problem, and we feel that we are doing our best and the service provider thinks they are doing their best. I guess if ControlUp's system could be more capable or if people could understand the integration part, that would be better.""The most common complaint that I have heard, at least within our organization, is about reporting. They have their own reporting. It's just that it doesn't yet include everything that you can look at within the application. You can only report on specific metrics or collections.""ControlUp could improve the integration. Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop monitoring has better integration.""It can be improved by including script-based scheduling.""This solution be improved by including load throttling tools. For example, I can identify a service where we spend a lot of CPU but I cannot restrict the service from ControlUp. I have to use another tool like AppSense.""Solve is a quick and intuitive tool for quickly mapping data together, however, once you have the view of the data that you like, it is difficult to share this with colleagues.""The graphical user interface needs to be improved from version to version.""We'd like to see the mobile app working again so that we can get alerts 24/7. This is especially useful for the person on call."

More ControlUp Cons →

"It is not as robust as other NPM solutions. For instance, there is a problem while labeling specific applications. It works well with well-known applications, but when you have to put in new applications that are not very known and set them up with names, ports, URLs, or some protocols, it is not as intuitive.""The tool crashes sometimes when we try to pull reports simultaneously.""The only downside to this software is the price.""Improved documentation and more responsive customer support can help in addressing issues faster.""They need to create a more simplified UI.""This is a horrible solution and I think everything needs to be improved.""Sometimes the solution does not register devices properly and that is a bug."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by PeerSpot users currently using the ControlUp solution.

A Chair, IEEE Consumer Technology Society - Dallas,Texas, USA at a non-profit says, “In terms of the public cloud, ControlUp's features make us feel very secure. Security, uptime, and reduced capital expenditures are the main reasons we use ControlUp. So basically, the money that we consume is based on the amount of time we are using a service. ControlUp offers a return-on-investment type of approach that helps us.”

A VP Virtualisation and Citrix Engineer at BlackRock mentions, “Solve is quickly becoming one of the most-used features. Its interface allows us to connect to all 54,000 monitored endpoints in real-time. The script-based actions have allowed us to extend the core reporting capabilities. Combined with the triggers, we have been growing their usage to fix things before they become an issue. Lastly, the controller view allows us to compare the configurations of settings side-by-side which is extremely helpful when tracking down the RCA of an issue.”

A Senior Citrix Remote Access Engineer at Rabobank comments, “The high-level view of the estate coupled with powerful administration tools has been great. We can see real-time performance and trends and can create triggers for common issues with associated scripts that can automate a lot of the previous manual remediation steps.”
