We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Fortinet is very user-friendly for customers.""The solution was relatively easy to deploy.""It is stable and scalable.""The setup is pretty simple.""The most valuable feature is the analysis, because of the beta structure.""Having all monitoring, response, tracking, and mitigation tools in one dashboard provides our analysts and SOC team with a comprehensive view at a glance.""Forensics is a valuable feature of Fortinet FortiEDR.""We have FortiEDR installed on all our systems. This protects them from any threats."

"It has definitely minimized resources. When everything was on-prem, there was a lot more work maintaining it. One of the big value tickets: I don't have lists of hundreds of exceptions for certain applications that I have to maintain, add, delete, and move. The very nature of the product has lessened my workload considerably.""All the features are beneficial.""Overall, what I found most valuable in CrowdStrike Falcon is its good mechanism. It also has a good reporting feature. CrowdStrike Falcon is an invaluable tool because, through it, you can take quick action, for example, when an OS is missing specific patches.""The most valuable feature of CrowdStrike Falcon is crowdsourcing intelligence.""We are now able to find the root cause analysis on any threat. We can figure out where the issue came in versus just dealing with where it is at the moment.""The 10 hours a week that we are freeing up from having to manage and monitor our AV solution has really allowed us to focus on other areas of the business. This has been a huge return on investment.""This solution consistently releases improvements. They have communicated their next two years of development which is powerful and covers all of our needs.""The features I like the most are the response time and the dashboard are both excellent."

"It's quite integratable so you can actually integrate and get IP malware and URL information. It also gives you some form of intelligence into what you're trying to investigate or what you're trying to understand.""This product has helped to increase staff productivity.""The most valuable feature is you have the expertise of human experience directly involved. There is a team of experts."

Cons
"They can include the automation for the realtime updates. We have a network infrastructure with remote sites. Whenever they send updates, they are not automated. We have to go into the console and push those updates. I wish it was more automated. The update file is currently around 31 MB. It could be smaller.""The only minor concern is occasional interference with desired programs.""ZTNA can improve latency.""Everything with Fortinet having to do with their cloud services. They need to invest more in their internal infrastructure that they are running in the cloud. One of the things I find with their cloud environment compared to others' is that they go cheap on the equipment. So it causes some performance degradation.""The security should be strong for the cloud. Some applications are on-prem and some are on the cloud. Fortinet should also have strong security for the cloud. There should be more security for the cloud.""Integration with Azure and SaaS provisioning tools could improve Fortinet FortiEDR.""The solution is not stable.""The solution's installation from a central installation server could be improved because the engineers had a little bit of trouble getting it installed from a central location."

More Fortinet FortiEDR Cons →

"For CrowdStrike to work, all the machines need to have an internet connection. This makes it challenging to assist customers without an internet connection. We would like to have a mechanism or relay to make this possible.""It is cloud-based, and this does make some weary of the data being held on the cloud. Privacy requirements must be taken into account.""I have worked with their technical support on several problems that were never fully resolved.""The dashboard does not have the facility to export the reports in a PDF format, which I can quickly share with internal stakeholders.""Technical support could be better than what is currently offered.""The content-filtering features for children could be improved. We have young grandchildren aged 12 and 8. My daughter, their mother, wants to keep them from getting in trouble on the net. She looked at all these other solutions from Google, Microsoft, etc., and she couldn't figure out how to make any of those work. I told her that I bet CrowdStrike could handle this. Sure enough, CrowdStrike can do exactly that. It's the same solution that the Defense Department gets. It works, but it's a little complicated to implement. It could be simpler to set the policies.""We can't do scanning audits or device blocking or application control.""The overall cost of CrowdStrike Falcon could be reduced."

More CrowdStrike Falcon Cons →

"We would like to have more AI capabilities to detect threats and improve its productivity from a cybersecurity standpoint.""You have to look for the new information from X-Force. X-Force will provide it but you have to look for it. We need clearer visibility.""I would like to see better integration with other systems, solutions, and vendors."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.

CrowdStrike Falcon offers advanced threat detection, real-time visibility, easy interface, and responsive customer support. It enhances workflow and efficiency, promotes collaboration, streamlines processes, and boosts productivity. With features like incident response options, customizable alerts, and proactive threat hunting, it helps protect organizations from malware and ransomware attacks.
