We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable aspect is undoubtedly the exploration capability""The most valuable features of Microsoft 365 Defender are the combination of all the capabilities and centralized management.""Microsoft XDR's system of analysis and investigation is super convenient for our customers. It integrates with other Microsoft solutions like Defender for 365 to protect email traffic from malicious external web links and phishing.""It gives a lot of flexibility in terms of configuration and customization as per the business requirements.""The most valuable feature of all is the full integration with the rest of the software in the operating system and Office 365, as well as Microsoft SCCM. It is quite easy for us to work with the whole instance of Microsoft products. This integration improves the benefits of the whole suite of products.""It's a very scalable tool that can be used in a very small environment or in a very large environment. Everything can be managed from a simple dashboard and can be scaled up or down depending on the customer's environment.""In Microsoft 365 vendor products, monitoring and connectivity across all Microsoft and third-party connectors enable viewing of all activity within those environments.""We can automate routine tasks and write scripts to carry out difficult tasks, which makes things easier for us."

"Everything we've done with CrowdStrike is due to Arctic Wolf. We don't even need to get alerts from CrowdStrike anymore. It'll send those to Arctic Wolf, and then Arctic Wolf analyzes those and let us know if there's a major issue.""Scalability is good. We have had no issues with it.""Among CrowdStrike Falcon's most valuable capabilities are its UEBA and SOAR functionalities, along with its seamless integration with any other SIEM solution.""The most valuable features in CrowdStrike Falcon are the full EDR with antivirus, hunting, reporting, and RTR remote control.""It has definitely minimized resources. When everything was on-prem, there was a lot more work maintaining it. One of the big value tickets: I don't have lists of hundreds of exceptions for certain applications that I have to maintain, add, delete, and move. The very nature of the product has lessened my workload considerably.""The most valuable features of CrowdStrike Falcon include Falcon Fusion workflows and endpoint detection capabilities.""The Protect functionality on the laptops provides great visibility into what's occurring, and the cloud management of the platform is what we needed.""Falcon's best feature is its detection and blocking of threats."

"It has a lot of features. It has file integration monitoring.""What I like most about LogRhythm UEBA is that it allows you to identify and analyze end-user behaviors and suspicious activities within the systems.""The most valuable features are file activity monitoring and registry activity monitoring.""It is easy to monitor users and that is how the solution is adding value to our firm.""The solution's most valuable features are the graphical user interface and the reporting.""Good capability pinpointing specific cyber incidents.""The tool's most valuable feature is server threat hunting.""The solution is useful for privilege accounts and super admin accounts. It is beneficial from a security perspective. The tool uses machine learning rather than threshold-based alerts. For instance, it can detect unusual user logins, such as a user logging in from a new browser or location."

Cons
"Microsoft Defender XDR is not a full-fledged EDR or XDR.""In the Microsoft Azure Portal, in Active Directory, if there is anything on the user it will provide you with the information, but you still have to go through it a bit. And sometimes, I have experienced difficulties in understanding the information, especially because the synchronization between Microsoft Intune and the devices that are connected to the user in Azure Active Directory takes a lot of time.""It would be highly beneficial if CoPilot could identify anomalies within the network and notify the IT team.""It would be helpful if the solution could scan faster when it comes to scanning attachments to emails.""The support from Microsoft could improve. There are times I have to wait for a response from a qualified specialist.""While the XDR platform offers valuable functionalities, it falls short of other solutions in its ability to deliver a cohesive identity experience.""Customers say they want absolutely seamless integration between other Microsoft solutions and Defender XDR, including the ability to change device settings within the Defender portal. They need to contact the IT team responsible for the device management tools to change some settings. They would prefer that those changes be initiated directly from the Defender portal or applied from Intune without involving the IT operations team.""At times, when we have an incident email and we click on the link for that incident, it opens a pop-up, but there is nothing. It has happened a couple of times."

More Microsoft Defender XDR Cons →

"The installation process for this software needs to be simplified.""It would be nice if they did have some sort of Active Directory tie-in, whether that be Azure or on-prem. Sometimes, it is difficult for us to determine if we are missing any endpoints or servers in CrowdStrike. We honestly don't have a great inventory, but it would be nice if CrowdStrike had a way to say this is everything in your environment, Active Directory-wise, and this is what doesn't have sensors. They try to do that now with a function that they have built-in, but I have been unsuccessful in having it help us identify what needs a sensor. So, better visibility of what doesn't have a sensor in our environment would be helpful.""I would like to see a more accurate integration and an option to check the local machine.""In terms of features, I would like them to add detailed logging functionality in CrowdStrike. Currently, CrowdStrike detects the threats immediately based on the IOCs and the signature-based policies or many threat behaviors, but in terms of logging those threats, it is not very good. The information that they provide in the logs is very little. They can build more analytics into it.""Some of Falcon's features are a bit pricey.""Any kind of integration that you want to do, such as using the API to connect to a SIEM, is complex and it will be expensive to do.""The dashboard area must be improved. We have integration with Splunk, and we are creating a dashboard there. Their dashboard area must be up to date. It should have more details and more options to create the reports and things like that.""This solution could be improved with greater scope for admins to make changes to the solution."

More CrowdStrike Falcon Cons →

"The product could be user-friendly for someone who doesn’t have any prior experience working with it.""It should have better mitigation with other solutions and be tightly integrated with other solutions. It has to be improved.""What needs improvement in LogRhythm UEBA is the pricing. Here in Asia, for example, in Sri Lanka, pricing is the primary concern, and this is the only area for improvement I see in the product.""The UI could be improved a little bit.""It would be helpful if there were more guidance provided for integrating with unsupported devices.""LogRhythm UEBA's data aggregation needs to be improved. Open-source users do not have much documentation available. Documentation is available only for enterprise users.""The cloud version is lacking and not up to par.""The search feature needs to be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The solutions price is fair for what they offer."
  • "The price could be better. Normally, the costs depend on the country you're located in for the license. When we were in the initial stage, we went with the E5 license they call premium standard. It cost us around $5.20 per month for four users."
  • "The price of the solution is high compared to others and we have lost some customers because of it."
  • "Microsoft is not competitive with the pricing of the solution. The competitors are able to offer lower discounts. The price of the solution is higher."
  • "We have a lot of problems in Latin America regarding the price of Microsoft 365 Defender, because the relationship between dollars and the money of the different countries, it's is a lot. Many customers that have small businesses say that they would like the solution but it is too expensive. However, large companies do not find the cost an issue."
  • "The most valuable licensing option is expensive, so pricing could be improved. Licensing options for this solution also need to be consolidated, because they frequently change."
  • "Microsoft should provide lower-level licensing options. They should do it in such a way that even an individual could purchase a license, and it should be entirely flexible."
  • "They have moved from a licensing model to pay-per-use... The question is: What happens if, for any reason, there's not enough budget to accept this model? That could be a great problem."

  • "The pricing will depend upon your volume of usage."
  • "I would like them to further reduce the price, because it is quite pricey at the moment."
  • "Purchasing the product through the AWS Marketplace is just a click away. Since we were using the on-premise version of the product, we continued on the cloud by purchasing it through the AWS Marketplace."
  • "I do not have experience with the cost or licensing of the product."
  • "The other administrator and I can log in to check the exact details of what happened, what was running, and what caused the detection. We know exactly what was happening on the end users PC and we can tell if it's something that we actually need or something that's malicious."
  • "We are at about $60,000 per year."
  • "This solution has a very competitive price."
  • "Our company pays approximately US$ 65,000 annually for 900 machines."

  • "Licensing is on a yearly basis. It's not expensive compared to its competitors."
  • "The pricing is nice when compared to other products in the industry."
  • "As LogRhythm UEBA is pretty expensive, I'd give its pricing a seven out of ten."
  • "It is quite a budget-friendly product."
  • "LogRhythm UEBA's pricing is affordable for small and medium businesses."
