We performed a comparison between Fortinet FortiAnalyzer and Securonix Next-Gen SIEM based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about Splunk, Datadog, Wazuh and others in Log Management."The most important feature is to be able to get reports or information about the state of all firewalls."
"It gives us reporting features, which are helpful in the case of troubleshooting and audit purposes."
"Technical reports clearly identify system checks, locations and areas, how many times things escape, which firewall is affected, and source IDs."
"There are a lot of monitoring features available."
"We have the most data visibility."
"The most valuable features are customizing reports, and the ability to drill down to display critical information in real-time."
"It's easy to set up the product."
"Initial setup is ok."
"The most valuable feature is what Securonix calls enrichment. Securonix is very powerful because of all the data it can process and automatically enrich. The actionable intelligence it provides is one of its benefits, due to the processing capacity it has."
"The user interface is easy to learn and navigate."
"The UEBA functionality indicates a lot about behaviors that are not found through a traditional SIEM. We have exploited that more than anything since we started using it."
"The scalability is one of the remarkable qualities of this product, which makes it very effective, especially when we are dealing with substantial data volumes in the cloud."
"The detection of threats and reduction of false positive alarms as compared to other solutions are valuable features. It has improved threat detection response and reduced a lot of noise from false positives as compared to our previous SIEM solutions."
"The customizability of the tool is valuable. We are able to customize the use cases and create them easily without a large amount of Securonix assistance. It's very flexible. We do not have to rely on Professional Services to modify or create a new use case."
"When we were looking for products for our security monitoring needs, our biggest requirement was that we wanted something based on machine-learning and analytics. If you go with rules, it can raise a lot of noise. Securonix, with its UEBA capability, had the best analytics use-cases."
"I rate the technical support a nine out of ten. They're friendly. Whenever we have a P1 issue, we write an email and our issue is resolved in one or two hours."
"Feature-wise, it is working very well for us. We don't need any additional features. However, its pricing can be improved. For small business customers, price is an important factor."
"It is very important that FAZ can support FortiController as the architecture designed for the network. FortiController should be registered in FAZ at least for event logs."
"The FortiAnalyzer is not good at managing multi-version environments. If all your FortiGate are at different versions in the field, that's difficult. The one thing we didn't like is the fact you have to have 100% of your environment at the same release, which is not pleasant, to have it fully functional. You can have a different release, but to have it fully functional 100% of your environment has to be the same release."
"We are concerned about the compliance of our policy and institutional philosophy."
"The user interface could be a bit more user-friendly."
"The integration with other vendors for log collection could be enhanced."
"It's possible that they could add some advanced analytics and some proactive controls for logging analytics. That will help a lot."
"It will be better if behavior or indicators of compromise were on the same licensing schema. Currently, it is an advanced feature that you have to purchase as an add-on. This is the reason we're trying to do the ELK so that we can integrate them and create those rules by using open-source software. It will also be better if it has some more integration with IT service management tools so that we can do endpoint protection and response based on those indicators of compromise or those behavior analysis rules that create events that can automatically flow. We can inject that data into a service incident ticket on our IT service management tool, and that way we can assign the ticket to the proper teams and respond right away. Currently, we only have integration with ServiceNow."
"We thought they were going to be a great product, however, they're actually not great at all as an MSP."
"The analytics-driven approach for finding sophisticated threats and reducing false positives is positive and good, but the platform requires a more dynamic concept. Everything is a bit static."
"A helpful feature would be an event export. A way to create more substantial summary reports would be nice."
"The incident response area should be improved."
"The technical support of the solution is an area with shortcomings and needs improvement."
"The solution could provide more automation."
"It could be improved a little bit more for admin users. There should be more administrative options related to security for admin users. For example, for forensic purposes, the admin should be able to stop a specific user from erasing some information. I would be helpful in certain situations, such as during an internal fraud."
"Other than issues with the training, there have been issues with the encryption. There have also been issues with some of the reporting, minor glitches that they have fixed as they've gone along."
