Cons
"Chart quality: many other competitors have charts and graphics that look much better and that provide dynamic effects. Cognos doesn't.""I think the GIS pieces maybe not as good as we would like.""The performance is a bottleneck and something that can be improved.""It would be nice to offer free online training on the tool for end-users.""Compared to Tableau and PowerBI, the IBM interface is easier to use. However, the drag-and-drop functionality isn't as straightforward. Formatting is also more challenging in the cloud than in other applications, like Power BI. Also, if you encounter an issue, it takes more time to resolve it on the formatting side.""The technical support team’s response time is slow and needs to be improved.""I would like to see the introduction of mapbooks for supporting some geographical information.""The high cost of a license makes it hard to scale up on a budget."

More IBM Cognos Cons →

"There is room for improvement in terms of the user interface, particularly when it comes to modifying connections between filters and visual components in a dashboard.""Pyramid Analytics could improve by speeding up data refresh, especially for large datasets.""Even though the solution has a functionality for every step, it's not so well- defined. That needs to be improved.""There is room for improvement in terms of documentation and examples, especially for newcomers like me who are learning both business intelligence and Pyramid.""The general amount of negative comments that I am hearing from my team makes me very wary.""I find that this is quite a heavy, time-consuming tool for developers.""I think the graphic number of charts and components could be higher, at least comparable to Brain Power BI.""It would be desirable to have the possibility to generate a data dictionary, detailing the original physical tables, renamed fields, and derived fields."
