"AppResponse is a total solution that gives you end-to-end visibility into applications at all levels, from Layer 1 to Layer 7. We can trace all those sections: physical, IP, transport, presentation, application, etc. It gives us the full picture.""Ability to see end to end user, application, server, and network response time and throughput data.""I have found the AppResponse, which is a packet capture solution, very good. It gives you the ability to drill down back in time. You've got all the packets there. You can troubleshoot it later, not immediately. It's very interesting.""We really like the scalability capabilities.""When it comes to the ability to scale up the product, this is suitable for small medium and large environments,""With some APM solutions, it can take a long time to check a periodic report, but you can get all the necessary details quickly with AppResponse.""It provides us with complete visibility of every packet.""The most valuable feature is performance monitoring."

"The best feature of Nmap is that it lets me see useful information about each endpoint in my entire network environment. For example, I can see every single connection of the network as well as each and every port.""Nmap's performance is great, and I've never noticed any issues in this respect. It really doesn't put a heavy load on the machine when using it.""The most important function, according to me, is the capability to use some arguments in the scanning. The solution's capability to go figure and do a deep dive, discovering information on specific aspects.""The most valuable feature of the solution for security audits stems from the fact that it serves as a powerful tool with the ability to scan a large number of ports.""From a functionality standpoint, it's robust and straightforward to comprehend.""Nmap has a powerful command line tool and a set of diagnostic features.""The scanning procedure includes UDP ports which sets it apart from competitors.""The tool's most valuable feature is its scripts. These scripts prove beneficial when security features may obscure or block connections. Nmap helps identify vulnerabilities across different systems, including web servers and various server types."

Cons
"The Wi-Fi side needs improvement."

More Juniper Mist Premium Analytics Cons →

"If Alluvio AppResponse reduces its cost, it will be more beneficial for customers to monitor their application and network performance.""Technical support needs to be more responsive.""The initial setup is straightforward, but you have to know a little about the product. It's not for everybody to just plug and play. If you know how the solution is implemented then it is straightforward.""The AI features should be addressed in respect of the analysis and intelligence that must be supported and delivered in the tool to predigest the large amounts of data.""The pricing is on the higher side of things. If they could lower it, that would be ideal.""Integration between NPM and APM solutions would improve efficiency. There is no agent on the server site related to AppResponse.""Alluvio AppResponse should improve its ability to expand across multiple operating systems.""They need to better integrate with products and solutions from different vendors."

More Alluvio AppResponse Cons →

"Nmap major operates through the CLI; there's no GUI component, and that's where the challenge is.""The tool's license limits the number of scans it can perform. Improving the license model could benefit customers by allowing more scans for compliance and other purposes.""One of the drawbacks of the standard Nmap utility is that it does not come with a graphical user interface, unlike a number of other open-source alternatives such as Zenmap.""The price is high and could be cheaper.""Nmap needs to improve its scanning speed.""The challenge often lies in finding suitable courses and professional resources.""The solution's initial setup could be better.""There is room for improvement in the design, the GUI. It looks a bit odd. Maybe Nmap should improve it or add more widgets to make it more attractive, but the basic functionality is good and provides what we need."

Nmap ("Network Mapper") is a free and open source (license) utility for network discovery and security auditing. Many systems and network administrators also find it useful for tasks such as network inventory, managing service upgrade schedules, and monitoring host or service uptime. Nmap uses raw IP packets in novel ways to determine what hosts are available on the network, what services (application name and version) those hosts are offering, what operating systems (and OS versions) they are running, what type of packet filters/firewalls are in use, and dozens of other characteristics. It was designed to rapidly scan large networks, but works fine against single hosts. Nmap runs on all major computer operating systems, and official binary packages are available for Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X. In addition to the classic command-line Nmap executable, the Nmap suite includes an advanced GUI and results viewer (Zenmap), a flexible data transfer, redirection, and debugging tool (Ncat), a utility for comparing scan results (Ndiff), and a packet generation and response analysis tool (Nping).
