Find out what your peers are saying about Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft, MongoDB and others in Database as a Service."The product's initial setup phase was pretty straightforward, with no complex processes."
"The paramount advantage is the exceptional speed."
"MemSQL supports the MySQL protocol, and many functions are similar, so the learning curve is very short."
"The ability to store data in memory is a standout feature, enhanced by robust failover mechanisms."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to create pipelines, streamline and extract data from the pipelines."
"It's a distributed relational database, so it does not have a single server, it has multiple servers. Its architecture itself is fast because it has multiple nodes to distribute the workload and process large amounts of data."
"The product can automatically reinstall and reconfigure in case of a shutdown."
"The SQL Server is low maintenance, it does not require advanced technical skills to maintain or use it as you might in other similar database solutions. You need some knowledge on how to access the solution and how to query it but it is fairly straightforward."
"Stability is one of the most valuable features."
"It's a very capable, efficient, price-performant OLAP server."
"Excel integration is one of its most valuable features."
"What I like most is the management, as it is very easy compared with other products."
"Enables us to convert to bigger DBs and more easily move or upgrade between branches."
"It will do clustering, so you can have two database servers looking at the same data simultaneously."
"We have found the solution valuable because we are able to easily create a query, shrink, backup, and make new tables."
"It is not the optimal choice for direct data collection through queries, and it's more suited for aggregation tasks."
"There should be more pipelines available because I think that if MemSQL can connect to other services, that would be great."
"For new customers, it's very tough to start. Their documentation isn't organized, and there's no online training available. SingleStore is working on it, but that's a major drawback."
"We don't get good discounts in Pakistan."
"Poor key distribution can significantly impact performance, requiring a backward approach in design rather than adding tables incrementally."
"Having the ability to migrate servers using a single command would be extremely beneficial."
"The product can be developed further to provide more appropriate output to users as it is one of the areas where there are shortcomings."
"They need to improve their support. It should be faster."
"The web interface and the command line interface could be better so we could manage and build some things around an API. If we could build our own solution, our own interface, and then manage the solution through that open API, that would be better."
"I would like to have the ability to restore backups in the next release."
"I have experience working with SQL Server 2016 and older versions, including handling JSON data. Initially, I found the JSON capabilities to be less helpful, but over time, they have greatly improved. SQL Server now offers extensive capabilities for working with various forms of data, particularly when communicating with text, such as in JSON format. I particularly prefer working with these features on Azure, as it provides numerous possibilities, especially in the field of business intelligence (BI). Additionally, the serverless platform offered by Azure is highly beneficial and makes tasks easier to manage."
"If SQL Server could perhaps run on Linux, that would be good. Most of us prefer Linux and I've used a lot of Linux. I understand that SQL Server is quite powerful, but I'm not sure if the functionality is there, but if it could be used in an open-source type of environment, it would be very good."
"You do need to have technical knowledge in order to install the solution. It's not something a layperson can do."
"The stability of the solution should be improved in the next release. Sometimes it is great, sometimes it is troublesome. I would also like data conversion and the code pages to be a bit more straightforward."
"If you are a new user then this solution could be difficult, they could improve by making the overall usage easier."
