We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"The Veeam Backup and Replication Suite is very user-friendly.""The ease of use for the graphical interface and the ease of installation are the most valuable features of this solution.""The solution is very simple. Management of the platform is so simple that we don't need to have any training to deploy this solution.""It's most compatible with VMware. It can restore single files instead of having to restore the whole machine, once again leading to savings for the company.""The initial setup was straightforward. It's not complicated. It takes around half an hour to implement, but it depends on the performance of the server that you are installing the backup software on.""The solution is very user-friendly and has an easy to use interface. We can manage it easily. It allows for a simple backup.""The really amazing feature about Veeam Agent is that when you're using the central deployment model, you can actually use the instant VM recovery feature, which is really a pain point that I find some days.""The technical support is good."

"One nice feature with Backup Exec is mainly that disaster can happen to any server and the disk image can be destroyed very easily. It's also easy to fully email the backup image and restore the server.""This solution works well and has good integration with technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.""The most valuable feature is the ability to back up IBM Power virtual servers.""The dashboard was good. I loved to see the maintenance dashboard every time I logged on. That was my first screen because it always gave me a reminder of how many days before my next renewal.""The most valuable feature is the user-friendly interface.""The interface, dashboard, and pricing are all perfect.""The interface for this solution is excellent, and it is easy to restore files compared to other solutions.""The solution is very scalable. Whenever we grew, it was just a matter of adding new licenses, so it's easy to grow."

Cons
"In new releases, I hope they can support Oracle cloud.""It could use deduplication features.""Scalability, if you are talking about Linux, is good. However, if you need to backup more types of solutions or Unix systems, like HP/UX, AIX, etc., it's not compatible.""It's scalable, but it's not scalable on every platform.""In terms of the physical environment, I'd like them to integrate it with other kinds of solutions. We don't just work with Microsoft or Linux, but other kinds of infrastructure data as well.""It would be much better if more applications were supported on the Linux side. For example, their agent for Windows not only can back up the Windows machine, but it can also back up Active Directory for granular restore, SQL servers, Exchange, Oracle, SharePoint, etc. When it comes to Linux, only Oracle databases are supported. There are workarounds, though.""In the next version, I would like to see an increase in the locations online. I have found that other products have good pickup location.""We are currently waiting for the continuous backup process."

"Veritas Backup Exec should be more user-friendly. The costs should also be much lower and it should be easier to go through the disaster recovery process.""This solution does not support image-level backup of a physical server.""Compared to other vendors, there are features that you will find not included in Veritas.""The cost is quite high. Along with the general costs, the supposed agents that you have to buy for the various options that you want to use ends up driving the costs higher as well.""There are some issues with the Backup Exec Library and the random picking of tapes.""Better integration with non-Microsoft products would be an improvement.""I would like to be able to create a restore task that can be scheduled so that the same restore action will be performed automatically.""In terms of improvements, I think the pricing model could be improved. They charge you by port, for every port that you have even if you're not using all of them."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"Licensing costs are $300,000 USD yearly, and we pay for three years at a time.""It's a subscription based license, which is started on a yearly basis. Currently the licensing is split between three editions: standard, enterprise, and enterprise plus. As long as you check the comparison between the additions and make sure that you have what you need, there are no extra costs with Veeam.""The solution is rather expensive and I think the price is too high.""The costing is very competitive."

"Veritas licensing is somewhat expensive. They have to decrease the price.""We are satisfied with the price of this solution.""It's a good price for the product.""The price of this solution is a bit high.""There is an evaluation license available to test this solution.""It is a mid-range solution on the pricing scale.""Its price is reasonable.""This product is priced for smaller customers."
