Entuity Scalability

The scalability of Entuity is good. If we want to have more nodes we only need to purchase more licenses.

We have network monitoring teams using the solution. We have five or six people who do shift work using the solution.

We do not plan to increase the use of the solution, we have enough licenses at this time.

I rate the scalability a five out of ten because Entuity doesn't support high availability on our setup, and high availability depends on OS availability. It is a good solution for a small-sized company but not good for large or enterprise scale. We have about 20 to 30 users using Entuity.

The solution’s scalability is good.

We have points devices. We have to draw a huge aspect to support this monitoring. This architecture could be improved to support more devices for each polling server.

When I was working with it, it was supporting about 2,000 devices or ports. It could be set up to support more by planning ahead. For example, if you have 10,000 devices to monitor, that planning should be done in advance in order to scale. You need to plan in advance how you would distribute all those devices into the available number of servers. Otherwise, you won't be able to scale it because it has to go onto another server to keep the stability and performance intact.

Entuity is definitely scalable. We use it for medium to larger markets and it is easy to scale. It is not very complex to enhance the deployment further.

We sort of run implementations with a small handful of guys. When I was running it as Eye of the Storm, I had three or four people that looked after it for a number of clients. It is really simple enough to maintain and scale.

We've got it looking after the segment that it serves in simple deployments. We're always looking, depending on the purpose in the solution or the client needs and depending on what they've already got in their environments. We take it from there. I don't think it would be fair to say that we would necessarily be scaling it. It all depends on the fit for the actual client base.
