FICO Blaze Advisor Initial Setup

The initial setup is always challenging, but I have 100 DevOps in my company, and that is why they are really experienced with FICO technology. We are using not only FICO Blaze but also other FICO products and that is why for us, it is easy. For companies that decide to move forward with FICO for the first time, the initial setup for sure will be challenging. FICO products are really hard to install. The solution has good documentation on how to use their software, but it's not easy to do because they don't provide files or multi-dependency solutions. We need to create our own data center, and servers, install the appropriate operating system, and then install all these products and set up repositories for those items. With installation experience with other FICO products, we can easily install all other FICO products as well, but it is challenging.

I give the initial setup a four out of ten. Installing the solution is quite hard and an old approach. This is similar to Windows Times, it's really hard to install if we compare the solution with modern software.

The initial setup is pretty manual and that's why it is complex, at least on the on-premise version. I think the cloud version, the BMP version, has some process to do the CICD pipeline but I don't have much idea about that, because I've never worked with it. But if they could update or provide some predefined path for the on-premise version, that would be helpful.

The deployment process was pretty complex because I'd never been involved on the technical side. It was just a matter of inexperience and I learned a lot along the way. For anyone working in the IT domain as a tester or programmer, I think the process would be much easier. We had help from the vendor because they know the solution inside out. I don't think you can use it without someone from FICO to assist, at least in the first year or so, it's quite a complex solution. We had three people involved in the technical aspect of the implementation, and we also had business people dealing with individual countries, so probably around 10 people altogether. The initial setup took about two months. We have around 15 users in the company.

The initial setup of FICO Blaze Advisor was somewhat complex. The implementation took approximately three to four months. However, I left halfway through the process, I am not sure of the exact timeframe.

The initial setup is easy and we haven't had any issues with it. Once we install it, we can begin working on it. It takes about an hour to deploy.

For some rules, the setup is straightforward and we can implement them directly without complexity. But for complex rules, with many conditions, and many nested conditions, we need to create a complex rule template.

We have provided many customized features to our customers for, as an example, copying rules from one environment to another. And the most complex part we have added is the localization or globalization of the rules management application so that customers with multiple, international offices can see things in the local language.
