FICO Blaze Advisor Valuable Features

I believe the possibility to extend the built-in logic is a valuable feature because FICO provides not only FICO Blaze, but also they provide ready strategies. This means that I can use this strategy and tune it somehow, and provide a ready solution for different business purposes for my clients. For example, if Bank X will come to me and ask to create some strategy for the loan origination process, in this case, I can take the FICO Blaze Advisor plus the strategy inside it that FICO can provide to me, tune it and deliver. I don't need to create the strategy from scratch all the time. The solution is very stable.

The feature that I have found most valuable is the algorithm they use in the retail version. The execution there is very optimized - so even though we have a huge service with huge counter rules, we still get the results in milliseconds. That is something amazing I found about this tool.

The programming language is very useful for people entering the IT domain. For beginners who don't have a lot of programming language, Blaze is very useful in that it's customizable, so you can create your own data items and your own variables simply, customizing a project to suit your needs. Blaze is very well structured and very easy to use for both non-technical people as well as for those with good technical skills. We use Blaze all the time, it's one of the two central hearts in the company.

FICO Blaze Advisor's most valuable features are the analytics, the code change is not required, and even a business analyst can do that change in the rules when we set it up.

The feature that I have found most valuable is that it has a fast engine for decision processing. Imagine that you have, for example, an Excel sheet with a lot of rows and columns - a decision table. If there was exactly only one row or column, the engine of Blaze would evaluate this kind of decision table fast. The solution core is originally in COBOL, this can be a plus, or also a minus in some cases. Important is also the simplification for Business users.

  • Scorecard feature adds value to the lending business by predicting the behavior of the customers.
  • Generating ADB files helps in not creating deployment files each time a change is made in the system. We can directly give reference of generated ADB file in a WAR folder.

The rules management application is the best feature because BAs or even, perhaps, a businessperson, can directly create rules, change rules, and deploy them to production directly.
