I have worked with Azure and find both solutions good. However, Imperva does have more advanced features than Azure.

We had F5, Akamai, Fortinet, Barracuda. We may have looked at Juniper as well, I don't remember. Not too many companies have a WAF. Not all the firewall companies are WAF makers.

F5 firewalls are clunky and that is why we do not use them. They are good and powerful, but it takes quite a bit to set them up. They are not as easy to set up as Imperva Web Application Firewall.

Compared to other web application firewalls in the market, Imperva does things in the most accurate way.

We use many tools for the application layer including Imperva, Infoblox Secure DNS, and Palo Alto. 

The product that was evaluated and was chosen as the recommendation was IBM Guardium. Unfortunately, its licensing cost was a lot higher. Therefore, the management decided not to proceed with the purchase.

We didn't evaluate other options, just Imperva.

I know that FortiGate is a niche product and wanted to evaluate Impera and FortiGate for the differences.
