Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We recommend this product for people who are running the Oracle Virtualization Manager.""It is much more scalable and flexible than everything else in the market.""Commvault can actually come in and assist you with aspects of the implementation - and they are quite helpful.""Commvault is a very stable product.""The product is a reliable solution.""Quick backups and restores of data are the most valuable features. It is important that it is an easy solution to integrate with the SAML authentication of our tenant, so we can have our users log into the systems and do their own restores, if needed.""The most valuable feature of Commvault HyperScale X is the automatic nature of its operation. We don't need to worry about sets of documents. It worked automatically, we don't need to think about it. When you set the solution up in a good way, you don't need to worry.""It's the leader in backup and archiving."

"I like Relativity's blackout feature, as well as the Case Dynamics function.""Caplets are a very good technical feature.""kCura Relativity is easy to use, and it is reliable.""There are a lot of ways to QC your work and save your searches, and we had really good case support from the Relativity team.""The ease of navigation from dock to dock, and that kind of usability, is quite helpful."

More kCura Relativity Pros →

"The most valuable feature which I found was that it was very user-friendly. It's a very new age-friendly tech for uploading the data into the software. It also has a wonderful representation of data in terms of dashboards and pivot charts where you get your data represented in various angles and projections.""Uploading the documents is super easy. You just throw it in a zip, and unless it's a PST, then you can throw it in directly."

Cons
"The initial installation is straightforward and took approximately two days. However, the process could be more simple.""The HTML interface is a remarkable improvement. However, there are still some features that are not available in that interface that are available in the Java console, but I'm sure that will come with time.""They can improve the security level for Windows. When mapping to the Windows, Commvault can take full control over data volumes so that the attacker can't delete the volume data, but the Windows admin can access the volumes. It would be great to block access at that level.""It would be nice to have just one email report come in, then we can filter out failures. If everything is backed up, we really don't need to see the report. If it is in a single report. A simpler customised report would be good.""Commvault could benefit from increased automation to streamline processes and enhance predictability.""We previously had difficulty with the support being foreign.""The setup is not that straightforward or easy. Even the documentation is not generic or public like other products. You have to be a partner or you have to have a specific account and download it from the vendor themselves.""I would like them not to push Command Center. It is good, but I would like them to enable all the features for the Java console. Some things are not in the Java console, like Office 365 agents. In fact, they are there, but one of the engineers had to show me how to configure it. It's not done the same as in the Command Center."

More Commvault Cloud Cons →

"They require more built-in support for some third-party applications.""What I dislike about Relativity is that we have to go through the host in order to do productions and loads. It is not a do-it-yourself tool.""I would definitely not recommended it unless you have someone who has had experience with it and knows how to work the program.""The price per user could be improved. We'd like for it to be more affordable.""There are a lot of bugs on the development side."

More kCura Relativity Cons →

"It would be better if they could include a technology-assisted review feature, which brings artificial intelligence into the cloud and the system itself. It would be great savings in terms of time and costs as you won't have a person manually going into a dense asset of documents and doing it.""The guys over at Logikcull will do everything possible to avoid a screen-share — they do everything via text."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "If budget allows using the per socket license and not the agent based with per GB counter for Dedup is the way to go."
  • "There is now a subscription based licence option that, depending on your environment, could offer a more efficient method to licence the solution if you are OPEX cost driven rather than CAPEX."
  • "New licensing is easy and affordable."
  • "Licensing could be better explained. Sometimes, it's unclear what features are available in different licensing models."
  • "Compared to other competitors and vendors the pricing is fair."
  • "In my experience, compared to solutions like Veritas and Veeam, while they do have their technical pluses and minuses, Commvault can save you on average forty percent initially, and then twenty to twenty-five percent annually."
  • "The price could perhaps be lower as well."
  • "Our cost is around $20,000 per month. The previous year, it was around $30,000 per month. It now costs less because Commvault changed the licensing type for providers."

  • "The pricing is extremely complicated."
  • "They are maintaining the per gigabyte pricing, and it's based on tiers of how much data you host with them."
  • More kCura Relativity Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Logikcull is very expensive. I wish it were less expensive."
  • "The cost depends on the case size of the data and the number of projects they're expecting to encounter. If it's small to medium-sized, this tool will be very good because it has a pay-as-you-go feature instead of an hourly billing rate, where they bill you every hour, and you have to go through the structure from beginning to end."
