Bitdefender GravityZone EDR Pricing

SimonClark - PeerSpot reviewer
Cyber Security Advisor - Director at Fort Net UK

The pricing is competitive.

I offer it in two forms. I either sell it as an annual license, which is fine if consumers want it that way, or as a managed service.

I can purchase a Bitdefender license as a managed service, which allows me to take responsibility for monitoring and maintaining it on behalf of my clients. They have both models at their disposal.

They have a choice in terms of licensing fees. They can purchase it as a managed service on a monthly subscription basis, or they can purchase an annual or three-year contract, as I do. It makes sense. When you sign a three-year contract, the price drops, and it doesn't make sense to replace an end-point solution every 12 months. It's a great deal if you buy it through me.

Price-wise, Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra is actually below market value in comparison to some of its other competitors, such as SentinelOne. If you look at the solution's price point, it's actually low market value, especially in comparison to other ones.

The product has a reasonable price. It provides value for money. Additional costs depend on whether the customers need add-ons like Email Security, Security Container, Patch Management, and Full Disk Encryption. The basic portfolio is offered at a standard price.

We bought 4,000 licenses for three years and received a 21% discount compared to our basic offering, which is about 100,000 Euro.

We take the subscription. Only we're taking that GravityZone and protection of the environment and the system. We didn't subscribe to the detection response.

There are expenses in addition to the standard licensing fee for maintenance.

We need to purchase the subscription. They will definitely provide a Threat Detection and Response (TDR). There is a system lock. There is a service, system lock, or something like that.

Without unlocking the service, we can't install any kind of software on the system or servers. We need to unlock it. So, that is a relevant service. Only that kind of servicing so far, something like that.

Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra is less expensive than other solutions, such as CrowdStrike. We had a really good deal because it was their year-end and they were trying to do a lot of sales that week. We bought a three-year contract from them and the cost was approximately $17 per endpoint, per year. It is was a very good price. I have spoken to other people who have purchased CrowdStrike at approximately $60 per endpoint, per year. I have no complaints about the price of this solution.

There are some differences. It's more cost-effective, yet it provides the same functionalities as Defender. That's why I've been exploring the comparisons. We pay for it annually, and it's a per-seat payment.

The license is very flexible. You can choose from monthly, yearly, or three years. The license is very simple. It's not a file that has to upload to the product. It's just a serial number, like a product key, that you put on the cloud console, and that's it. Every endpoint you install will be synchronized with that license.

Everything is included in the licensing, unless you want to add additional solutions such as Full Disk encryption. It's an additional plugin that can be managed from the same console. We are the only company in South Africa able to provide Bitdefender on a monthly billing basis. With any other company, you'd have to buy it annually. About 50% of our customers are annual, 50% of them are monthly. It means that as your staff increases or your staff decreases, your bill will increase or decrease on a monthly basis.

The pricing for Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra is not that high. It's okay for the service it gives, so I would download it on my personal computer and buy it for myself as a customer.

Apart from the standard licensing fees, there could be extra costs based on the features. Pricing for small businesses and enterprises differs, but another department is responsible for the financial side, so I don't know much about it.

I remembered wanting to sell the Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra family pack but couldn't get the pricing.

The licensing cost is on a monthly basis when you're doing the MSP model. MSP is a managed security service model. If you're doing the regular one year license, the licensing is based on what we call, a licensing band, so you get the minimum. The minimum is a three-user license. The pricing depends on the nature of the customer's environment, the number of users, and the infrastructure the customer has.

For example, if you have Microsoft Exchange in your environment and you want to protect it then you have to take a different option because you have the options of GravityZone business, you have the GravityZone Advance then you have the GravityZone Enterprise. It depends on the function of your infrastructure. Once we are able to know the infrastructure a customer has then we'll be able to come up with the right option.

There are additional costs apart from the initial licensing fee. The additional costs will come from things like the local support of the partner. If you're looking for on-site support then that would be an additional cost. They offer free offsite support, like telephonic and email support.

There are different packages available that vary in terms of licensing fees. The entry license is called Business Security, which has basic endpoint features like anti-malware, firewall, and device control.

The next level is called Advanced Security, which protects email and virtualized environments. The third level is called Elite, which has more advanced security features. It is a unique engine to deal with attacks on files or memory. It also has a sandbox, which allows you to collect feedback about any application you are running.

The fourth level is called Ultra, which is an EDR solution.
