We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution is user-friendly.""It helps them to create customized workflows, transform data, perform calculations, and consolidate multiple data sources into a target database.""The most valuable feature of Alteryx Designer is its ability to select all the inputs and formulas.""One of the things I like about Alteryx Designer is how easy it is to connect numerous data inputs, including API connectors. This helps tremendously in reducing the time required to extract data from systems like SAP that don't have straightforward connectivity options.""Alteryx Designer is easier to use for machine learning models. However, I am not very good at Python scripts which you will need to make the machine learning scripts.""The most valuable features are the integrated properties and integrated connectivity.""We use Alteryx Designer for analytics. It's quite helpful because once we set it up, we don't have to manually update or process data repeatedly. It saves time, especially for financial reporting, which is typically done monthly or quarterly. Once we set it up initially, we only need to make occasional updates if necessary.""The product is intuitive and easy to use."

"Support has been great.""It enables us to transform data at the latest stage rather than in ETL loads, so it's more ELT which is one of the advantages. It is also in near real-time, which brings significant advantage for our embedded analytics approach.""Low-priced reporting and analytics solution, with good scalability and stability. It has on-premises and cloud versions that are cohesive and can integrate well.""The most useful functions of Qlik Replicate are the data manipulation to transformations.""The CDC and the flexibility to use QVD as a source are the most valuable features of Qlik Replicate.""Great with replicating and updating records.""Qlik Replicate stands out with its cutting-edge technology and its ability to handle diverse data management tasks. This powerful tool allows us to efficiently and swiftly load data into various data stores or destinations, while also enabling easy distribution across different endpoints. A notable feature is its capability to reload data from multiple sources by creating multiple tasks within a brief timeframe of fifteen to twenty minutes. This eliminates the need for manual intervention and ensures quick data loading from different tables.""We use Qlik Replicate to change data capture of databases in production environments."

Cons
"The price of the product is an area with certain shortcomings where improvements are required.""Alteryx Designer overall should be easier to use.""The actual usage part of it needs to be explained more. It's too vague right now.""We need more documentation.""The only thing is sometimes it can be a bit slow.""When configuring the Logix, the UA could be improved.""When it comes to the pivoting part, the drill-through option is not there in Alteryx.""Its price can be improved. It is too expensive for our country. Because of its high price, we can't sell Alteryx Designer in this region. We used to be their reseller partner. There is also an additional cost for automating the data and running the flows, which makes it even more expensive. It will be very good if they can let users automate the data for free. Other solutions like Tableau provide this feature for free."

More Alteryx Designer Cons →

"The solution's flexibility to work with APIs should also be improved since it is very weak in working with APIs.""Support for this product is not great. It needs to be improved.""Support-wise, this solution is in need of improvement.""It's not possible to replicate the QVC files in data analytics.""This product could be improved by providing more insight regarding errors. One of our customers that uses Qlik Replicate has had an issue. We tried to debug it, but we could not trace the error message. The infrastructure site should give us more insight about errors. Qlik Replicate is not a business solution, it's an IT solution. The reporting tools and bug site should be improved.""In various scenarios, an important consideration is when we encounter issues and Qlik Replicate suggests reloading a specific table. If we face any problems or encounter errors with that table, it becomes necessary to make a change in Qlik Replicate. Performing a full reload every time is not feasible or practical. Instead, we should identify the specific issues and address them without repeating the entire reloading process. Based on this approach, we can investigate and resolve the problem by performing targeted loads from the source itself. This change aligns with my perspective and is something I would like to implement.""In the next release, I would like to see closer integration with data catalyst.""It would be better if the solution’s pricing were more obvious."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It is too expensive for our country. We are a small country, so it is too difficult to sell this solution. With Alteryx Designer, if you want to automate the data and run the flows, you have to pay more money. We were trying to automate the flows, and we found out that people have to pay 600 more for this feature, which makes it even more expensive. We are a partner for Tableau, and we are working with Tableau Prep, which is like a mini Alteryx. In Tableau Prep, you can drag and drop and make new connections with the different data sources. You can make all the connections. You can also publish a source. You don't have to pay more money with Tableau. You pay like $5 per user per month to access it."
  • "Alteryx is a little bit expensive compared to competing solutions."
  • "Alteryx Designer is an expensive solution."
  • "I rate Alteryx Designer a six out of ten for pricing."
  • "The licenses are expensive, making it difficult to consider acquiring additional licenses to the existing ones."
  • "Each license is something like $4,000."
  • "I rate the price of Alteryx Designer as a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is extremely expensive, and ten is a highly cheap product."
  • "I rate the price of Alteryx Designer a ten on a scale of one to ten, where one is low price and ten is high price."
