We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Alteryx Designer's user interface is great, as it is very user-friendly.""Alteryx Designer is easier to use for machine learning models. However, I am not very good at Python scripts which you will need to make the machine learning scripts.""I like Alteryx's browser tool because you can view how your data is handled live. There are many other valuable tools like transpose and the crosstab. You can quickly pivot your data, and there are connections throughout the database. It's so easy to create a connection. If you connect to sign apps or a more complex database, the tool contains all the tools you need.""The most valuable features are the integrated properties and integrated connectivity.""Workflow automation, in general, is valuable.""I have been using Alteryx Designer only for data modeling and data structuring.""Alteryx Designer's best features are that it's easy to use and performs well.""I like Alteryx Designer's drag-and-drop feature, where you drag a component, configure it and quickly run it."

"One of the most valuable features is that it's a simple development. It takes a short time to get services to work.""One of the most valuable features is data transformation. We have some legacy systems which are in old technology, like SOAP, whereas the new ones are in REST. So we use BusinessWorks to transform data from one format to another, from SOAP to REST.""Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten…On a scale from one to ten, where one is difficult, and ten is easy, I rate the initial setup a nine.""The OSGI console is available to debug different issues and get low level informations on the applications development, like bundle, dependencies, etc.""The ability to link to different technologies is valuable to us.""The initial setup of TIBCO BusinessWorks was straightforward since we have used the solution in our organization for a long time.""The solution is stable. We haven't had any serious technical issues.""The solution is very scalable. It can handle a lot. We have encryption plus integration servers running on that platform currently."

Cons
"Alteryx Designer's pricing and support could be improved.""The actual usage part of it needs to be explained more. It's too vague right now.""Alteryx's data science and machine learning capabilities are where it loses out to DataIQ.""The product could offer more connectors and more databases with support for the in-database function.""It would be simpler if they provided a component where you could simply enter some parameters and see the results.""The only thing is sometimes it can be a bit slow.""The conditional join feature should be improved.""Alteryx Designer's cost should be improved."

More Alteryx Designer Cons →

"The communication protocols could be improved.""TIBCO BusinessWorks could be improved with cloud support.""I would like the solution to be integrated into the cloud.""Cloud fitness is lacking""I'd like to see a new cloud approach in the next release. They need to work on integrations, stability and management issues on their cloud platform.""This solution's cloud could be improved. I don't know whether it was because we didn't have the internal expertise or if it was the product itself, but since they came later—I think only two or three years into the cloud—after many other iPaaS that had been in the cloud for longer, I feel that maybe they haven't matured in terms of the cloud.""The technical support's turnaround time is an area where TIBCO needs to consider improvements...Getting support from TIBCO on a particular issue takes a lot of turnaround time.""There are not many plugins available to integrate the databases. We have to write it in Java and integrate it. The developers should have more knowledge. These are the three main aspects that they could improve."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It is too expensive for our country. We are a small country, so it is too difficult to sell this solution. With Alteryx Designer, if you want to automate the data and run the flows, you have to pay more money. We were trying to automate the flows, and we found out that people have to pay 600 more for this feature, which makes it even more expensive. We are a partner for Tableau, and we are working with Tableau Prep, which is like a mini Alteryx. In Tableau Prep, you can drag and drop and make new connections with the different data sources. You can make all the connections. You can also publish a source. You don't have to pay more money with Tableau. You pay like $5 per user per month to access it."
  • "Alteryx is a little bit expensive compared to competing solutions."
  • "Alteryx Designer is an expensive solution."
  • "I rate Alteryx Designer a six out of ten for pricing."
  • "The licenses are expensive, making it difficult to consider acquiring additional licenses to the existing ones."
  • "Each license is something like $4,000."
  • "I rate the price of Alteryx Designer as a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is extremely expensive, and ten is a highly cheap product."
  • "I rate the price of Alteryx Designer a ten on a scale of one to ten, where one is low price and ten is high price."

  • "My understanding is that the licensing is very costly."
  • "It is a bit expensive for medium-sized companies. If you are migrating from the current version to the container-supported version, it is quite expensive. The existing licensing will not work because the product platform itself is different."
  • "Its price policy has changed quite a lot in the last two years. It was extremely expensive previously. Nowadays, you can buy a license for BusinessWorks for €2000. Looking at what you get in return in terms of support, TIBCO community, and stability, it is fairly reasonable. It is not too expensive."
  • "I think BusinessWorks is more expensive compared to other products. We have the ELA, so at least we have some sort of bargain or discount with that. But for a start-up, it's very expensive compared to other ESBs."
  • "Licensing scheme is too rigid"
  • "I don't have the prices of the products, but I know that TIBCO is not a cheap solution. I think that this solution is more suitable for large companies because I don't think that small- or medium-sized companies would have the money for this solution. WSO2 has the community version for free, so many of the smaller companies can use it. I'm not sure what the prices are for support, though, so I suppose the support for WSO2 is not cheap either."
  • "The solution is too expensive. It's one of the most expensive solutions out there, particularly because there are so many open-source competitors on the market. I don't know the exact numbers, however."
  • "I give the cost of the solution a four out of ten."
