Pros
"The stability is excellent.""The solution is easy-to-set up.""Break down your application into small modules to improve resiliency""It has always helped me. It is the repository where we store our images...The microservices appear to be well-made, and I don't have any comments on them as I don't see any flaws.""It's the best option for medium or large enterprises.""The tool works well with the nodes in AWS. It's scalability is also good in terms of architecture.""The most valuable features of Amazon EKS are its auto scaling ability and the ability for service discovery.""The most valuable feature is the computing speed."

"The most valuable aspects of Linode are the virtual server and the clean server. I install what I need on it.""The most valuable feature is that they are flexible and easy to get ahold of if I need something.""When I started using Linode, I found its functionality easy to navigate, user-friendly and responsive to my needs. It provides clear reminders about services I'm not using, like DNS zones, which I appreciate.""The fact that you can get a person on the phone has just been fantastic.""Linode has many other cloud servers across the globe.""It is also important that Linode offers worldwide coverage via multiple data centers. The ability to deploy on multiple servers, worldwide, allows us to have distributed services and failover and redundancy.""We can scale up and down as we require.""The creation of instances is very good, as is their interface which is not complex and is easy to use. With the dashboard it is easy to create a new instance and add your favorite things. You can add Debian, Ubuntu, or CentOS, or any flavor of operating system. You can select the RAM for your instance as well."

Cons
"I would like to see a cloud setup bank management feature.""Amazon EKS provides very minimum information during the upgrade of the node group.""Amazon EKS is not a solution that can be fully managed through automation, making it an area of concern where improvement is required.""An area for improvement in Amazon EKS is the user experience. The platform could be more user-friendly. Only an expert can manage and use it.""The connectivity could be better.""I am not impressed with the tool's Amazon console. It also needs to add security features.""The tool's setup is complex.""I would like to see it a little more stable, more operational, and more convenient to develop."

More Amazon EKS Cons →

"Its cost can be improved.""I would like Linode (without cluttering things) to provide some type of DevOps workflow where people are configuring their pipelines from running their tests and deploying to their test server. Once approved by clicking a button, it just gets deployed to production. I would like something like Azure DevOps, which we use for large applications, and would be something nice to have in Linode.""The only improvement in this aspect of the service which I can think of is perhaps a pool of developers who could be hired for those cases where the need goes beyond the support offered.""When it comes to marketing and exposure, Linode needs improvement because I just randomly found them by looking for Linux solutions.""I'm not sure what could be improved at Linode since they're likely already making enhancements, especially with the Akamai acquisition and, I don't have any specific suggestions as I haven't encountered any major issues. I might consider using API for managing DNS records, but overall, I'm satisfied with Linode.""There is room for improvement regarding customer support.""Right now, they don't have multiple data centers. They have limited data centers. I am currently using the Singapore and Mumbai data centers, but I am looking for data centers in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. They need to improve the availability of their data centers and partnership engagements with cloud Panda solution providers, like us.""It's not really an issue with Linode itself but upgrading Linux major versions can be challenging. It would be be fantastic if Linode developed a way to ease transitioning to a major new Linux upgrade."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The solution is more expensive than other competitors and does not require a license."
  • "Cloud based pay-as-you-go pricing"
  • "My company paid for the license."
  • "Pricing is dependent upon instance type."
  • "The solution is quite costly and developers will start exploring other solutions or moving their workloads to other clouds if costs aren't reduced."
  • "The price could be cheaper. I would rate it as seven out of ten."
  • "Amazon EKS has fair pricing. It's better in terms of pricing than other platforms."
  • "I would like a cheaper version of it."

  • "I pay just over £20 per month and have done so ever since I started eight years ago, which to me is good value."
  • "The pricing model is very simple. I like the simplicity of it, starting at $5, then doubling as it goes up from there. That is a brilliant idea, and it is not complex at all. It is about as dead simple as you can imagine. So, if you want to double what you have, then you double your price, pay the money, and reboot. It is done. It's that simple. You can't beat that."
  • "One key difference is that pricing is very hard to come by and to understand with all the bigger companies. Their pricing models are so weird and it's hard to figure out exactly how much I am going to pay for this kind of service. Everything is piecemeal. With Linode, it's simple and straightforward. You know exactly what you will have to pay at the end of the day."
  • "Compared to other service providers, like AWS and Google, the cost of services are much less and more affordable. We are saving about 90 percent by going with Linode versus other cloud providers."
  • "The pricing model is very simple. If you have very small applications, you can use the plan which costs $5 per month. That gives you 50 GB of memory and almost 1 GB of RAM. If you need more than you have to select the next plan which is $10 per month, which has about 70 GB of data and 2 GB of RAM."
  • "The value for the price is really good."
  • "Pricing is very good and flexible, according to the resources required."
  • "Being that they are small, their prices are slightly higher than the large providers like Amazon if you compare raw computing power."

    Overview

Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS) is a fully managed Kubernetes service. Customers such as Intel, Snap, Intuit, GoDaddy, and Autodesk trust EKS to run their most sensitive and mission critical applications because of its security, reliability, and scalability.

EKS is the best place to run Kubernetes for several reasons. First, you can choose to run your EKS clusters using AWS Fargate, which is serverless compute for containers. Fargate removes the need to provision and manage servers, lets you specify and pay for resources per application, and improves security through application isolation by design. Second, EKS is deeply integrated with services such as Amazon CloudWatch, Auto Scaling Groups, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), and Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), providing you a seamless experience to monitor, scale, and load-balance your applications. Third, EKS integrates with AWS App Mesh and provides a Kubernetes native experience to consume service mesh features and bring rich observability, traffic controls and security features to applications. Additionally, EKS provides a scalable and highly-available control plane that runs across multiple availability zones to eliminate a single point of failure.
EKS runs upstream Kubernetes and is certified Kubernetes conformant so you can leverage all benefits of open source tooling from the community. You can also easily migrate any standard Kubernetes application to EKS without needing to refactor your code.
