We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
They offer a variety of very good features. The product can help teach valuable life lessons about what not to do when building a network. The stability of the solution's router is its most valuable feature. The most valuable features are security and throughput. The solution is very stable. I have not seen any downtime due to the product freezing or anything like that. It performs well and hasn't required reboots unless it's to troubleshoot with a support service provider needing configuration. It doesn't overheat and it's on 24/7.The most valuable features of this solution are MPLS, BGP, and VRF.The VPN is the most valuable feature of this solution. The basic clients who don't use the VPN use it mostly for connectivity. The routing feature is the solution's most valuable aspect.

Cons
The pricing of the solution needs improvement. Many things about this solution are problematic including setup, configuration, performance, upgrades and support. The configuration needs improvement. Most routers, like HP or Aruba, use a UI interface. Those solutions are similar and uniform. It's easier for us compared to Cisco because with Cisco you are not using normal commands. They need to enhance the UI to make it more usable. This solution is scalable but it does need some improvements. If I only have one LAN port in which I want to connect more than one device, I have to buy an add-on card so that I can have two LAN ports. The smaller devices and low-end routers have about four LAN ports. This solution is a high-end device but has only one. It would be preferable if they offered more LAN ports.I would like to see the setup time reduced. The pricing could be improved. The solution needs to offer some security features in a future release.

Pricing and Cost Advice
The product is very expensive and does not provide the expected performance for the cost. The price of this solution is high. The cost of this solution is a little bit high compared to others.Cisco is mid-tier in terms of pricing and quite affordable by most enterprises. Our issues are basically currency related. The licensing is in dollars and the dollar is steadily rising. We've had an increase in the licensing fee due to the simple reason that the exchange rate is almost over 40%. That creates a major issue. If the currency devaluation doesn't stabilize, we may have to look at another solution. It is a costly solution.
