Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It's on the cheaper side and not too expensive for users.""Technical support has been very good. They usually respond quickly to our requests.""The most valuable aspect of CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is its instant block replication feature. This allows us to perform live block verification and eliminates the need to concern ourselves with recovery point objectives. This capability is particularly advantageous for critical workloads.""The solution is dependent on the network bandwidth. For example, if they have a bandwidth of 10Mbps the solution will run a little heavier. If the bandwidth is good the solution runs well.""CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is a fairly stable solution.""For regular backup and restore solutions, this product is fine.""The initial setup is pretty straightforward, it's not complex.""The setup is pretty straightforward."

"They have just implemented a Backup and Restore portal that we think is very good.""The service itself wasn't bad.""iland is excellent as far as the interface."

Cons
"I set up a test, deleted the source, and went to fail it back, and it didn't work.""I would like to see better support for creating and working with archives.""Definitely there should be better logging. From a customer perspective I would like to see more logs on what is happening. If there is an issue, I would like to know what the problem is. Right now, we have to depend on the support of the vendor to check and let us know, because we don't have access to a lot of logging information.""The only thing I would like to see is, they don't have a formal ticketing system. There is no way I can go back and see what questions we had six months back, what issues we had, and how they were resolved.""The bandwidth is a constant upload communication to the AWS DR environment, so if you do not have the proper bandwidth, it will definitely eat up your internet line.""I have not seen any areas that need improvement at this time.""The user interface, customer support, and the recovery time for the current customer query could use improvement.""The solution's network setup and a lot of the control tower setup could be improved."

More AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery Cons →

"The vendor needs to changes billing to work like every other business and stop charging people if they stop using your service.""They don't support a more current version of VMware.""I would like to see a better method of backing up Exchange in the cloud."

  • "I feel the product's pricing is a good value. Licensing is pretty straightforward."
  • "The pricing is better now that they had come out with the Tier 2 which replicates a little less often. In comparison to what I would have been spending with any other type of solution, the pricing is fair."

  • "It has saved us money from having to buy hardware for disaster recovery."
  • "CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is charging clients $20 to do the DR backups. It is an expensive solution."

    Overview

AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (AWS DRS) minimizes downtime and data loss with fast, reliable recovery of on-premises and cloud-based applications using affordable storage, minimal compute, and point-in-time recovery.

Set up AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery on your source servers to initiate secure data replication. Your data is replicated to a staging area subnet in your AWS account, in the AWS Region you select. The staging area design reduces costs by using affordable storage and minimal compute resources to maintain ongoing replication. You can perform non-disruptive tests to confirm that implementation is complete. During normal operation, maintain readiness by monitoring replication and periodically performing non-disruptive recovery and failback drills. If you need to recover applications, you can launch recovery instances on AWS within minutes, using the most up-to-date server state or a previous point in time. After your applications are running on AWS, you can choose to keep them there, or you can initiate data replication back to your primary site when the issue is resolved. You can fail back to your primary site whenever you’re ready.

Whether it’s eliminating cumbersome tapes, or meeting long-term retention compliance requirements, iland’s Secure Cloud Backup integrated with Veeam Cloud Connect technology offers an easy and cost-effective cloud solution for your offsite backup and archiving needs. With direct integration and 100% compatibility with Veeam’s industry-leading Backup & Replication software, you can implement your next offsite backup strategy with the security and confidence backed by iland’s award-winning Secure Cloud platform.
