Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable aspect of CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is its instant block replication feature. This allows us to perform live block verification and eliminates the need to concern ourselves with recovery point objectives. This capability is particularly advantageous for critical workloads.""Technical support has been very good. They usually respond quickly to our requests.""The initial setup is really straightforward.""We went from an organization with minimal to no disaster recovery. I was able to spin up the disaster recovery environment with AWS rather quickly and meet business requirements.""It provides our disaster recovery solution. It works fine in our tests.""The setup is pretty straightforward.""For regular backup and restore solutions, this product is fine.""We have never had any issues with scalability."

"Technical support is good.""We found the initial setup to be quite simple.""Application awareness is very good and the speed of this solution is good.""The interface of this solution is quite good.""The most valuable features are backup and restore. This solution is also easy to use.""I don't have any major problems with the agent connectivity with Microsoft applications or Microsoft Azure.""It's powerful and user-friendly.""Veeam helps to create a stable environment with virtual servers."

Cons
"Sometimes a server will get a bit behind. ""The bandwidth is a constant upload communication to the AWS DR environment, so if you do not have the proper bandwidth, it will definitely eat up your internet line.""I would like to see better support for creating and working with archives.""The only thing I would like to see is, they don't have a formal ticketing system. There is no way I can go back and see what questions we had six months back, what issues we had, and how they were resolved.""The solution's network setup and a lot of the control tower setup could be improved.""The UI could be a little sleeker.""The user interface, customer support, and the recovery time for the current customer query could use improvement.""Definitely there should be better logging. From a customer perspective I would like to see more logs on what is happening. If there is an issue, I would like to know what the problem is. Right now, we have to depend on the support of the vendor to check and let us know, because we don't have access to a lot of logging information."

"Interface could possibly be improved.""There should be an option to use the solution for physical machines.""With the currency exchange, the solution ends up being quite expensive.""The solution could use some updates to minor details omitted from current reporting.""I've found a lot of difficulties on the initial setup and especially in terms of credentials. We really need a Window OS. It doesn't like the domain admin account. it's a primary permission issue.""The solution's compression ratio and high speed for backing up can always improve. Aspects that need improvement are less time, better quality, higher security, and more compression. These are continuous requirements for any customer.""In the next release, I would like to see it easier to implement.""There really are no cons. The product simply has to maintain development to keep up with changes in the operating system."

  • "I feel the product's pricing is a good value. Licensing is pretty straightforward."

  • "It has saved us money from having to buy hardware for disaster recovery."
  • "CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is charging clients $20 to do the DR backups. It is an expensive solution."
  • "I rate the price of CloudEndure Disaster Recovery a six out of ten."

    Overview

AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (AWS DRS) minimizes downtime and data loss with fast, reliable recovery of on-premises and cloud-based applications using affordable storage, minimal compute, and point-in-time recovery.

Set up AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery on your source servers to initiate secure data replication. Your data is replicated to a staging area subnet in your AWS account, in the AWS Region you select. The staging area design reduces costs by using affordable storage and minimal compute resources to maintain ongoing replication. You can perform non-disruptive tests to confirm that implementation is complete. During normal operation, maintain readiness by monitoring replication and periodically performing non-disruptive recovery and failback drills. If you need to recover applications, you can launch recovery instances on AWS within minutes, using the most up-to-date server state or a previous point in time. After your applications are running on AWS, you can choose to keep them there, or you can initiate data replication back to your primary site when the issue is resolved. You can fail back to your primary site whenever you’re ready.
