It's a complete software that can protect all the main applications. Perhaps that's the feature I like most. The integration with the NetApp and other apps is also very nice.It's very stable.We are using a KVM system in our cloud, and this solution works very well with it.It's the leader in backup and archiving.It is much more scalable and flexible than everything else in the market.In the VM, we have Live Recovery, Live Mount, and Live Sync.Global deduplication and the indexing of the data object are the most valuable features. We went from an organization with minimal to no disaster recovery. I was able to spin up the disaster recovery environment with AWS rather quickly and meet business requirements.We have never had any issues with scalability.It provides our disaster recovery solution. It works fine in our tests.​​The initial setup is really straightforward.Technical support has been very good. They usually respond quickly to our requests.​

I love Veeam because it is very easy to work with.The user interface is good. It provides a lot of information.Technical support is good. They're very responsive. It depends on the timezone responding, but I usually get a response within three hours of creating a ticket.The interface of this solution is quite good.A full-featured option for managing virtual machines with an instant recovery feature.I like working on the Azure platform.Application awareness is very good and the speed of this solution is good.The initial setup was straightforward. It was very easy. Deployment only took about one hour with configuration and everything considered.

Cons
I think the one thing that could be improved is the customer experience. The interface should be more user friendly.The back of virtual machines needs improvement. I know they're working on it. They're always doing new things but I think they still have a little bit more to do.This solution can be complex and difficult to administer because it supports all of the many platforms, so it would help if they could simplify it.Its competitor, Veeam, includes backup and replication in the same product. I don't know if Commvault has it or not, but they should if they don't.Support for this product needs to be improved because I have seen a couple of cases where it is taking more than the required time to solve issues.We previously had difficulty with the support being foreign.The setup is not that straightforward or easy. Even the documentation is not generic or public like other products. You have to be a partner or you have to have a specific account and download it from the vendor themselves.You need quite a lot of human resources to maintain a Commvault environment, to keep it operational. Also, it would be nice to if there were an easier way set up some Commvault components.

The bandwidth is a constant upload communication to the AWS DR environment, so if you do not have the proper bandwidth, it will definitely eat up your internet line.Definitely there should be better logging. From a customer perspective I would like to see more logs on what is happening. If there is an issue, I would like to know what the problem is. Right now, we have to depend on the support of the vendor to check and let us know, because we don't have access to a lot of logging information.The UI could be a little sleeker.The only thing I would like to see is, they don't have a formal ticketing system. There is no way I can go back and see what questions we had six months back, what issues we had, and how they were resolved.Sometimes a server will get a bit behind. ​

It is not always easy to update this solution to the newer version, so the update process needs to be improved.The predictability of the solution needs improvement. Sometimes, if it's doing something at the back end, it may go slow. Today, the backup completion took four hours, but sometimes it can do the backup in 30 minutes or an hour. With solutions like NetBackup, I can predict to a much higher degree of certainty how long something will take to complete.I've found a lot of difficulties on the initial setup and especially in terms of credentials. We really need a Window OS. It doesn't like the domain admin account. it's a primary permission issue.An area that this solution could be improved would be with the licensing.Updating and configuration can sometimes be a little bit of a hassel, but once you know the product better it is easy to use.I am not very impressed by the technical support I received when I had an issue.The stability of this solution needs to be improved.Maybe in the future, they could do something better with the user interface and the performance, but so far it's a really good, efficient solution.

The price could perhaps be lower as well.In my experience, compared to solutions like Veritas and Veeam, while they do have their technical pluses and minuses, Commvault can save you on average forty percent initially, and then twenty to twenty-five percent annually.Compared to other competitors and vendors the pricing is fair.

The pricing is better now that they had come out with the Tier 2 which replicates a little less often. In comparison to what I would have been spending with any other type of solution, the pricing is fair.Where the price adds up, there are CloudEndure licenses, then there is the AWS environment, and finally, there is the AWS storage, so cumulatively, it adds up.It has saved us money from having to buy hardware for disaster recovery.I feel the product's pricing is a good value. Licensing is pretty straightforward.We were happy with the pricing that they gave us.They license us on a per machine basis. We have a set number of machines, which we have licensed.​

We purchased a three-year license, and I think that the prices are ok.There are costs in addition to the standard licensing fees, and pricing can be a disadvantage or a weakness for this solution.Pricing is based on license packaging and duration. Longer term licenses are less per year and license packages also offer a discount.Our licensing fees are on a yearly basis.
