Pros
"It provides our disaster recovery solution. It works fine in our tests.""CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is a fairly stable solution.""The initial setup is really straightforward.""The setup is pretty straightforward.""Technical support has been very good. They usually respond quickly to our requests.""We have never had any issues with scalability.""For regular backup and restore solutions, this product is fine.""The initial setup is pretty straightforward, it's not complex."

"I have no stability issues to report...The initial setup is quite simple.""Veritas NetBackup Appliance's most valuable feature is information backup.""The intelligent policies feature is used in order to protect the VMware infrastructure. One of the things that makes a big difference for our company is the usage of these intelligence policies. The system automatically provides extra protection for any VMware server application or service. From a backup administrator's point of view, this is what we call peace of mind. It reduces the workload and therefore reduces resources needed from the company.""If you use the NetBackup Appliance you do not need to have separate media servers and hardware. You can configure the same storage as a media server and master server as well as a storage port. This helps to reduce the hardware costs of the media server.""This is a good backup interconversion solution because all the masters and the targets backups are on the same system. It is easy to administrate for a single point of access for clients.""Veritas NetBackup Appliance is a total backup solution. We don't have to buy other applications to do it.""The product enables me to recover the information of the appliances in the organization.""It’s quite scalable."

Cons
"I have not seen any areas that need improvement at this time.""I set up a test, deleted the source, and went to fail it back, and it didn't work.""The solution's network setup and a lot of the control tower setup could be improved.""The only thing I would like to see is, they don't have a formal ticketing system. There is no way I can go back and see what questions we had six months back, what issues we had, and how they were resolved.""Sometimes a server will get a bit behind. ""I would like to see better support for creating and working with archives.""The failback could be improved. It should be more intuitive.""Definitely there should be better logging. From a customer perspective I would like to see more logs on what is happening. If there is an issue, I would like to know what the problem is. Right now, we have to depend on the support of the vendor to check and let us know, because we don't have access to a lot of logging information."

"The only drawback for NetBackup, and of course for Veritas, is that they have stuck to the same environment and to the same UI - User Interface. This needs to be improved in future releases. It needs to be more dynamic.""We had some problems with the backup of the physical server.""It would be a better solution if we were able to make more reports in regards to the backup system.""Depending on the setup structure, it can be complex to implement.""I would like to see a product that requires less expertise to manage it.""I would like the ability to recover a single folder within the backup of a virtual machine.""Veritas NetBackup Appliance needs to improve its security. It needs to ensure that it is 100 percent protected against cyberattacks.""Sometimes, the user interface doesn't work smoothly."

    Overview

AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (AWS DRS) minimizes downtime and data loss with fast, reliable recovery of on-premises and cloud-based applications using affordable storage, minimal compute, and point-in-time recovery.

Set up AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery on your source servers to initiate secure data replication. Your data is replicated to a staging area subnet in your AWS account, in the AWS Region you select. The staging area design reduces costs by using affordable storage and minimal compute resources to maintain ongoing replication. You can perform non-disruptive tests to confirm that implementation is complete. During normal operation, maintain readiness by monitoring replication and periodically performing non-disruptive recovery and failback drills. If you need to recover applications, you can launch recovery instances on AWS within minutes, using the most up-to-date server state or a previous point in time. After your applications are running on AWS, you can choose to keep them there, or you can initiate data replication back to your primary site when the issue is resolved. You can fail back to your primary site whenever you’re ready.
