Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature is device control.""Its robust security audit and compliance functionalities prove especially beneficial for businesses in sectors like BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) and Information Technology.""It is easy to manage the DLP between MacOS and Linux.""I like the data protection feature. Our users were working on a client's CRM application with a lot of client-related EIA information. We did not want the users to be able to send any of this data outside. I also like its ability to protect against data leaks via emails and social media. I like that you can deploy it quickly, and it requires no training.""It also provides us with the ability to lock down a wide variety of USB devices, which is pretty important because we don't want certain data accessed. It does a really good job when it comes to the versatility of the exit points it supports, making sure that important data does not leave our organization.""The versatility regarding the exit point Endpoint Protector supports in making sure that important data doesn't leave our organization is vital for us. In the industry that we're in, data breaches are a significant concern. While our staff is contractually required to maintain confidentiality and they're all very aware that they shouldn't try and transfer company data of different classifications elsewhere to non-company devices, there's a risk.""The software is easy to use and the dashboard is intuitive.""The console is friendly and it supports Mac."

"The customer service and support are very good.""The initial setup is easy.""The UI is easy to use.""On DLP terms, Zscaler Cloud DLP ensures that data doesn't go outside of the organization. So on the network level, Zscaler does a pretty good job.""Zscaler Cloud DLP provides you with basic DLP features that you get out of the box such as keywords, regular expressions, and data identifiers, for example, your social security numbers, and credit card numbers, with everything built into the product, so you can directly use those features within the policies. You don't need to create it from scratch, and to me, this is the biggest benefit of Zscaler Cloud DLP. You have a lot of templates to choose from in the solution, rather than having to create templates from scratch or reinvent templates.""The product’s most valuable features are data discovery, activity control, and zero trust exchange.""You can close your data protection gaps with Zscaler. You can quickly find all the classified, sensitive data across the cloud.""Its impressive scalability allows the combination of multiple dictionaries and using them as one engine, resulting in narrower data loss gaps."

Cons
"We are currently facing an issue where it is blocking the Winman software, which is something that we don't want to happen because we use it in our accounts department to pay taxes.""It would be better if they had an inbound restriction feature. For example, I work out of my home from my personal computer. All my policies can be deployed while working. When I am done, I should be able to use my machine as my personal machine, and all these policies should be waived. In the next release, I want time bound restriction of the policies because most of these users were working out of home and using their personal computers.""It would be helpful if they offered discounted pricing for long-term contracts to serve customers who are interested in committing for periods of three years, five years, or longer.""There are times when the server needs to be updated, and it would help if I got a notification for when the newest version comes out, because at the moment, I'm going in every now and then and checking. Sometimes it comes out and I didn't know it had come out.""Sometimes, it should try to focus on one thing rather than multiple things. Endpoint Protector does device control very well, which is why we use that particular function.""The reports and analysis could be improved. There could be a little more data, and the logs could be a little more granular, but it's nothing major. It does what it needs to do, and it's fine.""If CoSoSys comes up with a suite of Host DLP, along with Network DLP and SaaS DLP, it will cover all of the aspects of a DLP solution.""One of the areas where there is room for improvement is support. It takes time for them to respond. They need to respond on time. Instead of sending an email, I think it would be very helpful to say, 'Let's set up a WebEx to see what's really going on,' instead of the back and forth of email."

"On the improvement side, when we bypass certain internet traffic types, it's currently recommended to have a one-click option, but audio and video aren't always supported. Thus, we need to bypass that kind of traffic. So, it is an area of improvement.""There could be additional ways to define proximity. Additionally, they should provide some exclusion options for specific policies and an ability to control the DLP engine.""Zscaler Cloud DLP needs to improve its compatibility with other security tools.""There aren't really any missing features that I have witnessed.""The tool must provide IP-blocking features.""There could be a feature to view the VPN tunnel activities in terms of configuration.""Price-wise, it is a costly product and it should be reduced.""In the next release, I would like to see RE2 Regex supported."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "This is a budget-friendly solution that covers all the aspects of host-level DLP."
  • "The price of Endpoint Protector by CoSoSys is more or less the same as other competing solutions."
  • "It has a fair price. They just changed recently from perpetual licensing. When I bought it, I bought it on perpetual license, then they changed the whole company policy to go to subscription. It was a bit of a shock to us because we haven't upgraded it that many times. However, after speaking to CoSoSys directly, they gave us a very good renewal price."
  • "I don't have any issue with the licensing and pricing. I would love for it to be cheaper, but at the same time I'm getting a lot from it."
  • "[The pricing] is reasonable compared to what's out there."
  • "Pricing is quite reasonable. For smaller organizations, it lets them get into the product domain, whereas a lot of vendors won't even talk to them. CoSoSys is just about at that sweet spot of being serious enough that you have to budget for it, but at the same time, affordable enough that the value is well worth it."
  • "The minimum number of licenses they sell is 50 or 150 users."
  • "For what it's doing, the cost is somewhat high for us, but it's the cost of doing business with the clients that we have."

  • "It is an auto-renewal subscription service."
  • "The licensing model for Zscaler Cloud DLP allows you to only buy what you need. You don't need to buy it as a whole, so it's good."
  • "Zscaler DLP solution is expensive, with a fixed pricing structure that is billed annually and monthly. There are no additional costs for licenses."
  • "Zscaler Cloud DLP is moderately priced. We pay around 2 million rupees per year."
  • "The product is a little more expensive than other tools."
  • "It's expensive currently. But when purchasing for a large number of users, there's room to negotiate. It's really up to the procurement team."
