We performed a comparison between Denodo and Elastic Search based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Cloud Data Integration solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."It is a very stable solution."
"It allows a lot of traceability and you can decide what data you want to collect"
"The most valuable aspects of this solution are the short time frame in which you can deliver and connect."
"Denodo makes it easy to export data as a service or data link to other services."
"The data abstraction is the most valuable feature."
"Access to numerous forums and internet information."
"While we may not be using all the features of Denodo at this time, we have found the data virtualization features to be very useful in helping us connect our data sources together, bringing all our data into one platform."
"Denodo's best features are its performance, easy data transformation, and the job scheduler."
"The search speed is most valuable and important."
"A good use case is saving metadata of your systems for data cataloging. Various systems, like those opened in metadata and similar applications, use Elasticsearch to store their text data."
"The most valuable features are the ease and speed of the setup."
"The initial installation and setup were straightforward."
"It is highly valuable because of its simplicity in maintenance, where most tasks are handled for you, and it offers a plethora of built-in features."
"The special text processing features in this solution are very important for me."
"I am impressed with the product's Logstash. The tool is fast and customizable. You can build beautiful dashboards with it. It is useful and reliable."
"The solution is valuable for log analytics."
"Tasks such as conversion of a date format or conversion of a number format that can be done in a very easy way in different languages, like SQL or Oracle, are not so easy to do in Denodo. For example, if you want to convert a date from one format to another, in Oracle it's pretty easy; in Denodo, however, it requires so many lines of code. Simple things that can be done very quickly in other database languages require more lines of code in Denodo."
"I would like it if we could pull the data model or export the data model because Denodo has, based on how you build, something called associations. The data model gets very confusing when you go look at it. It depends on how you define it, but it's really huge. I wish there was a way to export it into Visio. It could be that they already have a way to do it, and I don't know, but it would be much easier for the architects and even for the developers to look at it than scrunching it into the screen and expanding every small portion of it. If there was an easy way to export the Denodo model into another modeling tool and view it, it would be great."
"User-specific security at the column and row levels needs to be improved. Instead of applying security at every individual level, it would be better if it were at the group or tier level. It will save a lot of time."
"Denodo currently integrates with ChatGPT, but the ability to manage and utilize them directly within Denodo would be a significant improvement."
"Denodo can improve usage management-related aspects. If you deal with the mini views, it gets stuck. The performance is very slow when we go with a large number of views and high volume."
"The solution should have its own acceleration technology."
"There have been some issues when you are at a table. Currently, Denodo exports data sets for a tabular model. When you are finished modeling your database or data warehouse they export a link to be used in Tableau. They should support other tools like Power BI."
"Denodo has some difficulty supporting large numbers of records."
"The UI point of view is not very powerful because it is dependent on Kibana."
"Enterprise scaling of what have been essentially separate, free open source software (FOSS) products has been a challenge, but the folks at Elastic have published new add-ons (X-Pack and ECE) to help large companies grow ELK to required scales."
"There are some features lacking in ELK Elasticsearch."
"It was not possible to use authentication three years back. You needed to buy the product's services for authentication."
"The pricing of this product needs to be more clear because I cannot understand it when I review the website."
"The reports could improve."
"There is a lack of technical people to develop, implement and optimize equipment operation and web queries."
"Elastic Enterprise Search's tech support is good but it could be improved."
