We performed a comparison between Quantum DXi Series and Veritas NetBackup based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Backup and Recovery solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."While the challenges posed by the difficulties were significant, they prompted the replacement of problematic components, resulting in the resolution of issues. Importantly, there were no substantial ongoing concerns. Regarding the overall performance, it has been consistently excellent."
"I am impressed with the tool's technical alliance with Veeam and Veritas."
"AIR and duplication, overall management and troubleshooting."
"This is a product that has been on the market for a while and they have mastered the backup process, especially when backing up to tape, for most environments."
"The solution has been very good over the years at fine-tuning various aspects of the product so that it is continuously made better."
"It covers all kinds of different architectures. Plus, it's very user-friendly and it is very reliable"
"The product is stable and reliable."
"Includes snapshots and multiple database agents."
"Best feature is its three-tier backup."
"I have found the Media Server Deduplication tool, deployment policies, and agentless features to be the most valuable features."
"Perhaps the most notable area for enhancement lies in the web interface for management. The current limitations in LDAP editing capabilities are not addressed in the UI, and I haven't observed any recent updates. It's possible that the new version of the DXI service incorporates improvements in the GUI, but I cannot confirm. While there is room for improvement in the current GUI, it remains a relatively minor issue. Overall, the system is comprehensive, covering aspects such as reports on latency and networking, leaving little room for additional enhancements in those areas."
"The product needs to improve performance while scaling out. It also needs to improve stability."
"We want a solution that can be scaled-out because our data is growing very quickly, and we aren't able to back it up quickly. It takes one or two days, which is a problem. It is very slow. We just use one backup server. We want another solution with maybe a backup server cluster to back up more data in one day. We want a solution that can be scaled-out to back up our data quickly and efficiently."
"I also think they could improve the reporting. They use a web-based software application OpsCenter for the reporting and I see that they haven't made any changes in years."
"There is room for improvement in the implementation of Power servers."
"We faced so many backup configuration issues. And from the Veritas side, they couldn't fix that issue. So we started from scratch, purchased everything, and then we configured everything. Therefore, the support could be better."
"The licensing costs could be more affordable."
"The solution could improve by having a feature to backup iSeries workloads."
"NetBackup is a very old product, and it is based on Linux, which is not user-friendly."
"We have issues reaching them during some hours, and we need to escalate through several levels to get a resolution. Sometimes tickets stay open for days."
