Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control Pricing

AH
Sr.Oracle Database Architect at Saudi Telecom Company

Based on the organizational structure, it cannot be considered a cheap or expensive product, even for enterprises that run critical applications and have good financial support. I personally feel that the tool can be considered to be a little bit on the expensive side.

The product will be free if you have an enterprise license. However, the price will be very expensive. The last implementation I did involved applying it to monitor the coding gate, and it was very expensive. The company advised us to invest in it, and we had to create several scripts to monitor it.

Price-wise, if you deliver Oracle EMCC to other parties, start with the basic EPPM tool. This covers essential features for project management, planning, and cost control. It is a good starting point for effective project delivery without unnecessary complexities.

It falls in the middle when it comes to cost—it's neither expensive nor cheap, particularly in the context of mitigation.

The licensing costs are largely too high. Particularly in the African market, companies struggle a lot in terms of IT costs.

We are using the free version. We are not using any licensed packages of Enterprise Manager, so I’m not quite sure how much each package is. As I understand it, there are different plug-ins that you need to buy for Enterprise Manager, but I’m not sure how much they cost.

If you plan to use OEM Cloud Control 12c for a corporate company, it will be better to get the Diagnostics and Tuning Pack or the Management license based on your needs. This tool will be your most important assistant. But for smaller goals, you can use the base OEM functions for free (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E246...).

Our customer uses Oracle Universal Credits to pay for their license on an annual basis. The price is definitely affordable.

OEM requires no licensing, but if you want to use features like the performance monitoring page in your database, you must have the Diagnostic Pack license. If you want the tuning advisor, you have to license the Tuning Pack. The license you need is not for OEM, but for the Oracle Database.

You will probably already be an Oracle user and so will have an existing license agreement. Add-on's can be pricey though.

The base product, including DB Control, is free. However, additional Ops Center management packs, e.g., Tuning, Lifecycle Management, must be licensed in accordance with Oracle's guidelines. It's very easy to get confused about this. We recommended a comprehensive review of the licensing documentation, or a sit-down meeting with the vendor, prior to installation.
