I would rate my experience with the initial setup a five out of ten. It is neither too easy nor too difficult.  

The setup is straightforward. SAP provides support to help us with the setup, and they provide a consultant to work with us on the project. It makes the process easier. The solution is cloud-based, hosted by SAP.

The initial setup process works fine.

I rate the initial setup a seven out of ten. The solution was not too complicated to set up. The solution takes up to 12 months to deploy.

I was not present at BU when the initial set up occurred.

Straightforward.

Initial set up with SAP Ariba Sourcing is straightforward. However, there are strategic decisions that must take place as part of the configuration. Namely, what strategic sourcing process will you want to build for your sourcing projects or what approval flows do you want to create as part of your sourcing steps.
