Bitdefender GravityZone EDR Previous Solutions

I have prior experience with the Cisco Secure Endpoint product, that's true, but it's a little rusty. I previously worked for Cisco. I'm familiar with AMP and AnyConnect, as well as their various solutions. However, it is most likely out of date.

I deal with numerous other vendors, Bitdefender in particular, but also with certain other managed service providers that offer entire solutions. In addition, I offer a managed secured operation center service to my clients. Within my experience, I have my own service as well as merchandise from other suppliers.

We used Sophos for two to three years. Sophos is well done. But the thing is, in our environment, it's not compatible with Sophos.

Before Sophos, we used NOD32. Those, like NOD32 and Sophos, are old. I had been using McAfee, Avira, and Kaspersky. I tested a lot of antiviruses and compared to Bitdefender, these are our choice. It's different from what we have in the commitment and all those. It definitely works, and I will go for Bitdefender even two years from now.

We previously used Sophos and I recall, Sophos released an update for the AV software that destroyed the AV software on every endpoint that ingested it. It was a huge debacle and it took a long time to resolve because it left the solution in a state where you could not repair it, remove it, or update it.

I used multiple solutions before moving on to Bitdefender. When I was with MSPs, we used to conduct an annual review to determine the most effective antivirus solution. We would then promote and deploy the chosen antivirus. Upon joining S2S, we worked with Bitdefender, as it was highly ranked at that time.

We switched from Symantec because we had a problem with ransomware that did not stop. We were concerned about the customers with this particular ransom and older kinds of threats. We switched to Bitdefender after we tested a lot of viruses and ransomware in the lab.

We did not use any other EDR solution previously.

We used to use iSheriff and Panda Antivirus but things change in the market, as the threat changes. As a distributor, if we see a product is starting to change focus and move away from an antivirus focus, like Panda did, we let them go. If we are changing products we institute a migration plan for our customers and we carry out the transition for them.

Before using Bitdefender, we were using Sophos. It's a very similar system to other firewall appliances. It was a full appliance with everything on it, and we decided to not switch but split all the systems from Sophos to different appliances for better security and improvement of the company.

In the past, I tested Trellix, Sophos, and WatchGuard, which I also used a little bit. Based on my experience with other tools, I can say that Bitdefender GravityZone EDR is user-friendly. The tool is very easy to understand and learn.

My company did work with an EDR solution provided by a vendor named CyberArk, and we even did the proof of concept for one of our customers with the same product, but they were not happy with it. As some of the requirements were too much to handle for Cybereason, my company decided to switch to Bitdefender GravityZone EDR. Cybereason's user interface is very well designed. According to my customers, Cybereason's user interface is way too well designed, but it's over the top, making it not so easy to use. My customer found Bitdefender GravityZone EDR easy to use, simple, and easy to learn, especially for junior-level employees.

We have been using Bitdefender for a long time. We've never used any other antivirus. Other customers have moved from other platforms to Bitdefender because of the possibility of the cloud solution.

They also choose Bitdefender because it has competitive pricing compared to solutions like McAfee and Symantec. They have local support and it's easy to use.

Yes, I was using Trend Micro full suite. It didn't gave me advanced security features and it was quite difficult to manage. Secondly due to our bandwidth limitations we had to switch to cloud based solution with advanced security features.

Previously, I was using Kaspersky with no central management option. The main reasons we switched were:

  1. Centralized Management
  2. No client interaction
  3. More points in detection of the current threats on various independent tests.
  4. The suspicions about Kaspersky working with Russia FSB.
  5. Bitdefender is a Romanian company, as is my company.

We worked with Kaspersky for about 10 years.

I think that in Egypt, the cloud version of Bitdefender is more mature than Kaspersky and the other vendors. It also has more features. However, Kaspersky has remote installation capability for third party applications, which is something that is missing from Bitdefender.

For EDR The on-premises solutions by other vendors have larger hardware requirements than Bitdefender. also Cloud EDR from Bitdefender is 10 min. installation solution with no Hardware requirements.
