Boomi AtomSphere Integration Pricing

RA
Senior Manager, Integration Operation at ManpowerGroup

The pricing is not reasonable at all. It's very high. Maybe Boomi is making changes recently, planning to triple the prices. That's a significant increase, and that's not gonna work at all for us.

I rate the product's price an eight on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive.

There are costs in addition to a development cost, of course. The minimum is about 15 to 20K a year, and it can increase depending on volume. The amount is comparable to other solutions so it's relatively affordable. The companies that use Boomi are companies that already use many applications. For a multi-million dollar company, $20,000 for licensing is reasonable.

Boomi AtomSphere Integration is a relatively cheap and cost-effective product compared to other products like SAP or Oracle. I don't know the exact price of the product.

The licensing cost depends on the number of applications.

You do need to buy a license to use the solution. It is not expensive. The model is pay-as-you-go. You only pay for what you use.

The cost of the solution is in the neighborhood of $20,000 annually. There are no costs above the standard licensing fee.

I rate the platform’s pricing a ten out of ten. It is very expensive and based on connectors. Thus, we are looking for a low-cost solution with similar integration services.

When it comes to pricing, it's not so much about being less expensive as it is about how they don't tie to the hardware on the underlined VMware that you run on, as other vendors do. It's one of the reasons you're able to grow.

Dell Boomi Atomsphere, Jitterbit, Lotus Notes Lead / Analyst/ Technical Manager at a tech services company with 51-200 employees

Dell follows a very unique licensing model. They do not charge by the number of people using the software (client-server model), but rather they charge based on the number of connections used. This makes it very cost effective.

Self Employed/Independent at a consultancy

The licensing model of Dell Boomi is based on a ‘pay-per-use’ model. I would advise an organization adopting Dell Boomi to make a clear plan on which integrations should be delivered, so that all needed investments are known up-front.

The technology type of integrations should also be taken into account when creating this complete overview for licensing, as well as the expected number of messages per interface/API.

If a company is replacing an existing integration platform, such as the ones that were available around 10 years ago, I would advise on migrating step-by-step to Boomi.

By doing this, all new integrations can be realized on Dell Boomi and existing connections can be migrated in time and when required (before license renewal of the former integration platform).

This would allow an organization to have the proper type of cost control in place, and would not require a ‘big bang’ approach for migrating to the new platform, while such an approach is still be possible and viable.

Boomi is priced using a different strategy than with Jitterbit. With Jitterbit you pay more at the entry-level. I'm speaking here about the paid version of Jitterbit because Jitterbit also has a free version. With the paid version of Jitterbit, the entry-level is higher than Boomi, but you get the less in the box with Boomi.

So, with Boomi, you can start lower, but you need to make sure that you calculate all the little things you will need, such as a connector for testing. If you are not very familiar with all the options that you don't have, you might think that Boomi is less expensive. But then when you start using it, you see what you need and what you want to add what you had not considered, the pricing scheme can surprise you. It quickly brings up the price to about the same as Jitterbit. As a consultant, I know all this but it may not be obvious even to someone who is careful about due diligence.
