"I would like to rate the product as eight of ten."
"It is reliable and easy to use (user-friendly). The heat mapping, passive network surveying, and doing the heat mapping of a building's wireless network allows me to see what level of coverage an area has."
"The addition of the AirMapper software on the nXG and our AirCheck G2s has helped a lot because we're mostly not drilling down into the data. Local managers only need to see the coverage on their end and whether there are performance bottlenecks. These things are easy enough for us to ascertain with iPerf."
"Clear and easy to use maps."
"Using the products to ensure the safety of our equipment that we have a lot invested in."
"The predictive survey is the most valuable feature. I use it quite often."
"The heat maps are quite good, and some features are easy to use."
"The benefit is with the ease of use of the software, I am able to show the customer, "Here is what your wireless coverage looks like." It is set up in a fashion that non-technical people can understand it."
"Channel planning, access points' auto position, and the size of the spectrum are valuable to me."
"The solution is user-friendly and it provides a good output that can be measured, and I can describe and pinpoint any inaccuracy shortfalls."
"The most valuable when it comes to this solution for me is the fact that I don't have to go out and do a site survey. With this solution, I can do it all predictably with the usual 90% accuracy."
"Ekahau Site Survey is scalable."
"I don't handle the software that much. I'll do some of the testing with our CTO. It is primarily him and I. He has commented before that he likes the fact that with two licenses, we can set it up so that when we're on a large facility, he can see where I am and I can see where he is. That's for sure is very handy in large venues."
"It's easy to plot APs and generate reports."
"We are satisfied with the way this product is working."
"There are some survey tools that are a little easier to use, but the benefit of using the Ekahau is that it is very configurable. If you go into a building that has solid cement walls, instead of traditional walls, you can configure it for that. It is much more configurable than the other ones."
"Less time consumed doing the real surveys."
"But it's definitely a more expensive solution than other ones."
"The user interface needs a lot of improvement. The auto-placement of access points is not accurate."
"It would be nice to have some more training resources for younger techs. We can use them if we need some assistance, but that usually requires one of us who knows what we're doing to calibrate the programs properly."
"When you conduct an active survey and then want to use it for design work, it's actually not very useful."
"The surveying features are in need of improvement, along with general usability."
"I would say some of our newer techs that are going out to job sites can be a little bit intimidated by the interface."
"The throughput should be more advanced in the future. They need to add more versions of WiFi than just one."
"We were actually able to recover some access points in some areas that were over saturated. So I I can leave at least two areas where we probably had twice as many access points as we needed to. So we actually redesigned it and pulled some of those access points where I don't know that there was any proper planning done when they were initially deployed. It was before my time, but it just seemed way over saturated, and they were all beaten on each other. So Site wasn't helping. It was probably hurting, and we saved equipment that we could then deploy somewhere else. This can be improved."
"Lacks an in-app photo app or a way to upload photos while carrying out an active onsite survey."
"I am having problems importing maps to Ekahau Site Survey. Importing is one of the first steps in using the solution and it is getting stuck. The problem could be that our maps are large with many layers."
"Our CTO was not real happy with their support."
"Ekahau would benefit by making improvements to lag time."
"I find the power button hard to access with just one hand."
"I wish the solution was better at making different survey modes."
"I wish there were a competitor to keep Ekahau Site Survey's pricing in line, but there's none."
