Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It's real-time connected planning, so the calculations are pretty much seamless as far as your model is connected.""The solution works very well for budgeting.""It's simple to use with a lot of functions.""This product has a very good modeling feature, and its graphical representation of visualizations has also been valuable.""Anaplan provides 130 GB of cloud storage for organizations to use as part of their license.""Where we're seeing the opportunity in the market is at the Fortune 100 companies that have far more complex modeling type scenarios where you need to be able to have a lot of people collaborating together, and you need a lot of information all at everyone's fingertips. This is where you see the big advantage of a solution like Anaplan.""Anaplan integrates well into my clients' core systems. The ability to aggregate the forms within the dashboarding is also useful. Only one of my clients has implemented workflow. Their usage has been very light. Dashboarding capability is probably the biggest one. My clients like having the ability to aggregate, slice and dice, and dynamically adjust things in the dashboards.""Anaplan's strongest feature is that its GUI is very modern and user-friendly."

"It is a solution for GFMIS (Governmental Fiscal Management Information Systems).""The system is reliable and the backbone of financial and other core systems in many organizations worldwide.""Oracle E-Business Suite is easy to use, and we have enough resources out in the market.""It's quite secure and fast, and we get an end-to-end solution.""An integrated platform with an easy of integration to a third-party system.""The supplier invoice payment process is very easy and is integrated from the requisition to the payment (and to creating the asset).""It makes financial operations easier to perform.""The technical support for the solution was very good."

Cons
"Anaplan is a relatively expensive piece of software.""Anaplan's workflow component is probably the biggest area for improvement. I'd also like to see Anaplan add an ad hoc reporting tool that allows users to query things. It's going to factor into how you design your data set and your models, but I'd like the ability to create ad hoc queries against the data that's in there.""The visualization tools in the product are limited in comparison to other reporting tools.""The dashboard could be better. Because within a dashboard or report, you have to do a lot of scrolling. You need to scroll down because the table doesn't fit in a single view. That's why even the users aren't happy with that kind of user experience. They need to scroll to see all the data, and it could be better if it fits in just one page. That way, you can see everything. In the next release, I want automation that's connected to Anaplan. For example, to load master data from SAP to Anaplan. I don't know if this already exists, but a log where you can see the progress and see if there's an error will also help. It would be better to give you the error message, for example, if there is an error within the automated process importing to Anaplan.""The price of the solution can improve.""The solution could improve by better dashboards and while entering the form loss and project implementation the ability to use graphical shapes more effectively.""Anaplan could be improved with a stronger consolidation module.""Anaplan should come up with flexible options to connect to a data warehouse rather than an Anaplan hub."

More Anaplan Cons →

"We don't like Oracle EBS because it is very old. Nowadays, all the systems are on the cloud and web-based. With Oracle EBS, you need a huge setup before installing it. You need a lot of servers. There are a lot of problems and bugs in the system. We have to move from Oracle EBS to another system. In terms of improvements, it can have better training for end users and better support.""They don't have built-in bank integrations, which would be very helpful.""The implementation took a long time but it was for many reasons. However, Oracle made sure that the solution and systems were up and running.""Oracle E-Business Suite could improve the tables. When we remove some of them sometimes they cloud the modules into one. It becomes a little difficult to segregate.""Movement of CIP Inventory cannot be monitored in Inventory module when we are using the CIP Account or movement of CIP Inventory in Asset module, which is not flexible like Inventory module.""It is difficult to get answers from technical support right away.""One issue with the product is because it build on a lot of older technologies, there is a substantial technical debt in the system.""I would say the integration needs improvement. Oracle needs to work on the integration layer to make the solution much more robust and modern."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "We are currently using a free workspace license for 90 days. We are satisfied with the price of the solution. There are additional costs if you want more storage, the default limit is 250 GB."
  • "The entry-level is anywhere from about $30,000 to $50,000 a year, however, it does go up significantly after that depending on the complexity and how much space you're using."
  • "This is a yearly subscription. So a customer initially buys a workspace and specifies how much GB they want. The minimum starts at around 30 GB. You can buy multiple workspaces."
  • "The license is a yearly subscription. There are three licensing tiers: the model builder, planner, and the reporting."
  • "This is an expensive product and if the price were reduced then it would attract more customers."
  • "The cost of Anaplan is a challenge for clients, especially if they don't have an ongoing long-term use case for it. It's a $50,000 licensing fee just to get started. Clients need a strong business case to switch from Excel to Anaplan. But if clients have used something similar in the past, such as Hyperion or other solutions, that's not a factor because they know what to expect."
  • "Anaplan is a bit pricier compared to its competitors - the license costs about $4,000 per user annually."
  • "A value-for-money product and a very reasonable price compared to competitors like SAP or IBM."
  • More Anaplan Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Find a best Oracle partner and get a better discount."
  • "Oracle scales the pricing, but E-Business Suite is still very expensive for small to mid-sized businesses."
  • "It costs too much."
  • "The pricing is high."
  • "In order to minimize the implementation and consultancy costs, business lines should have proper definitions. They need to have a proper way of retrieving their data, which should be structured well."
  • "Both the current projects and future projects should be defined well. Licensing should be done according to current and near future plans."
  • "USD $100,000 annually."
  • "Considering the market at the moment, Oracle needs to adjust the pricing of this solution."

    Reviews from Real Users:

Kopano R., Freelancer at a tech services company, says, “What I found most valuable in Oracle E-Business Suite is the patching because it is straightforward. As long as you follow Oracle's best practices, you are able to finish the task of patching without a problem. I like that it's also easy to add products, e.g. if you want to add on financials, you can, or if you don't have financials, you can expand on that. I like that Oracle E-Business Suite is really scalable.”

Mohammed G., Senior Oracle Application Consultant at a comms service provider, writes, “Oracle E-Business Suite consists of a lot of streams, such as financial and HR processes of the enterprise companies. We are using most of the Oracle financial modules, and we have an Oracle stream, FI procurement stream, and HR streams, which have a lot of applications. Oracle E-Business Suite has over 20 different modules to choose from, it is comprehensive. Additionally, the integration is very good. “
