We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"People are called back five minutes after I establish a ticket or incident. They are often doing WebEx and web sessions to get to the point.""The modulation of some of the things, like how the things are connected and disconnected. You have different login objects that you can quickly put to other different objects and other objects that you create, which makes transporting things very easy from one environment to the next.""The most valuable feature is that it can be installed on any type of application on every kind of operating system and the agent can use it on these applications and systems.""Both the stability and the scalability of Automic Workload Automation are great.""Compared to other products, the stability is remarkable.""It improves the visibility of what is going on on the system. If I have a problem, it is easy to identify, understand dependencies, and identifying the root causes than just running through scripts and searching through applications or servers.""An important feature is the ability to modify PeopleSoft Run Controls at run-time.""We have all of our payroll being done in the platform. There are a lot of different processes that need to be taken care of, and they all need to be linked together. When you put them into a workflow, and you know that you've built logic into that workflow, and you have alerting, it's something you can step back from. You don't have to be worried about every single piece of that puzzle. If something goes wrong, you have confidence that some alerting will let you know. It streamlines, it makes things go faster, less eyes on glass."

"Sterling Commerce Connect:Direct is a solution that is on the market for a very long time. There is an integrator that has been developed and evolves every year. On the roadmap, there is always a new integration. For example, it's one of the solutions in the market that out of the box can handle EBICS protocol. The file processing is done very well. By default, there are a lot of configurations that can be customized.""The most valuable feature is that it provides 100% reliability for file transmission. It ensures that files get delivered in a secure manner. When you use Connect:Direct, your file 100% gets delivered to the next delivery location. If the log shows that a file got delivered, it will have all the transmitted data without truncation or other data issues.""Security is the most valuable feature of this product.""The Security Plus feature of this solution is excellent, and allows you to send encrypted files very securely to remote destinations.""Automation is the most valuable feature.""The product has been very stable.""Offers secure file transfers with a fast and efficient protocol for very large files."

Cons
"I am heading up the AWI. I desperately miss the possibility to show my read-only users on the Explorer side only their folders, not all the folders.""It seems still very technical to get the full features out... Once you get to some of the leadership levels, such as myself, you don't have time to go digging into it. It would be nice to have some additional performance features such as reporting, analytics.""They need to handle cross datacenter failover. They have a really good High Availability solution that works well within a single sysplex, but in our environment, since we have two main datacenter locations, we have two separate sysplex.""The pricing has the potential to be high.""The hotline can take a long time. They will say, "I will take it and give it to the Level 2 support."""The one big issue that we have is around passwords and not being able to update passwords through a different tool. This is not available yet.""The SSH agent is missing in version 12.1. Maybe it would be a good addition to see on the web client of the next version of Atomic.""Choosing Automic Workload Automation essentially locks us into their ecosystem, making it nearly impossible to switch to a different product."

More Automic Workload Automation Cons →

"Sometimes we face issues and can't figure out the cause of failures.""The user interface could be more user-friendly.""The user interface needs to be improved.""This solution cannot be deployed on a root_squash NFS, which limits superuser privileges.""User interface is not user friendly.""Technical support is the number one concern.""Sterling Commerce Connect:Direct could improve by adding some of the functionality that some other vendors have. For example, GoAnywhere has call agents, which are small clients that can be installed on the endpoints and can be handled by the central point on the server. If I want to do this with the IBM solution, I have to sell a lot of account addresses. The price could be unprofitable for the customer. There is some small functionality that could be implemented and could be easily done to improve this solution.""They have File Agent, which is an additional utility and a component of Connect:Direct, for automated file transmission. In that utility, there is some issue with the file name. There is a limitation on the file name, and that is being fixed by IBM."
