We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The support response time and the freedom from strange bugs and strange things happening in the software are valuable.""Omada's best feature is creating accounts, automatically assigning permissions, and distributing resources based on assignment policies.""The key benefit of Omada Identity is maintaining complete control.""As an administrator, we benefit from a lot of functionality that is available out of the box, but it is also configurable to meet our specific needs.""Omada's user interface is elegant and easy to work with. I like Omada's ability to automatically generate accounts for new hires and allow them access to all required systems by established policies. Around 80 percent of workers can start working immediately on their first day without requesting further access.""What I like most is that we can always find a solution, and we can also find the cause when something goes wrong. I like that the most because everything is in one way or another traceable. That is what I like most. I like its reliability.""The most relevant feature is Omada's reporting engine. Omada never 'forgets' and archives every process. All steps an admin, user, or manager has executed, are recorded in Omada.""We used to have a problem where an employee's access wasn't terminated when they left the company. Now, we have much better visibility into and control over who has access."

"The most valuable feature is the re-certification campaign capabilities.""I found all of them quite valuable, especially the identity manager, governance, and identity portal. All the features are helpful.""You can spin up IDM or Identity Suite in a few hours and it is ready to use.""The most valuable feature is the speed of implementation. Now with the Virtual Appliance, it's much faster. In the past, to implement this kind of solution, it would take so many weeks. Now, it takes one day, or minutes, and we have the deployment ready.""Nowadays it is offered as a Virtual Appliance, and that saves considerable time for installing and controlling it.""With the Virtual Appliance, combined with CA Identity Manager and GovernanceMinder as one solution, it eliminates having multiple infrastructure requirements, multiple products, and gives a holistic view of the access granting."

"Another good feature is the change history. It's centralized in a single place and allows us to manage people's Active Directory domains from a central location. We can also drill down into individual objects in a troubleshooting or even an auditing situation. We can show evidence to auditors by drilling down into the individual history. It gives you all the history of what happened around an individual object. That is something that would be almost impossible to do in Active Directory, or extremely complicated.""The AD and AAD management features of this solution are really good... They offer added value by showing more fields such as password age and the statuses of some things that we normally wouldn't see.""In comparison to native Active Directory tools, using Active Roles for delegation is so much better. It uses an access template and that makes it easy to see who can access what. In fact, you can do that for many objects as well.""Having a tool to manage all changes to AD from a single pane of glass is awesome.""It provides automatic provisioning/update/deprovisioning workflows from a source system to a target system.""The provisioning and deprovisioning saves a lot of time and skips a lot of errors.""The biggest thing for us is Active Roles saves a lot of man-hours in keeping groups up-to-date manually or trying to write some sort of script that you have to run, so we don't have to reinvent the wheel. Instead of when every time somebody joins a department, then somebody has to remember to put in a request to add "meet user Joe" to this group, the solution does it automatically for us. Therefore, it saves our business and IT staff time because they do not have to process requests since Active Role can do it for them.""The solution is stable."

Cons
"One thing that we are not so happy about is the user interface. It is a bit dated. I know that they are working on that, but the user interface is quite dated. Currently, it is a little bit difficult to customize the user interface to the need of the business, which is a little bit disappointing. It needs it to be a little bit easier to operate, and it should have a better user interface.""It is not possible to customize reports on Omada Identity.""The Omada support response time has room for improvement.""The web GUI can be improved.""In our organization, all the data is event-driven, which means that if an attribute is changed in the source system, it can be updated within a few seconds in all end-user systems. There is room for improvement in Omada regarding that. Omada is still batch-based for some processes, so sometimes it can take an hour or even four hours before the execution is run and the update is sent.""Omada could make it a bit more convenient to send emails based on events automatically. Having that functionality is critical for us to maintain transparency.""I would like to see them expand the functionality of the tool to continue to be competitive with the monsters out there. For example, they could add functionality on the authentication side, functionality that Octa and SailPoint have. But they should do that while maintaining the same simplicity that makes Omada a product of choice today.""The user interface could be improved. The interface between Omada and the user is mainly text-based."

More Omada Identity Cons →

"The documentation can be improved because sometimes we have some technical issues that were not documented and we have to rely on support to solve them. Then there are issues around getting the architecture, but it's challenging to get the architecture.""The connectors for the identity and governance part could use some improvement, by way of adding more areas. They need more development to cover more target applications.""If there was a seamless integration between portal and IdentityMinder, then that would help a bit.""I would like synchronization when a mapping is added between end points. Currently, the synchronization is not complete. It would be great if this synchronization happened immediately."

More CA Identity Suite [EOL] Cons →

"For the AAD management feature, it needs to improve the objects that we can manage and the security.""In terms of improvement, it could be made even more user-friendly for administrators when they need to create new workflows and rule sets.""The initial setup was quite easy, but it was time-consuming. It took about three months.""The way you can search groups could be better.""The user and group management in Azure AD could be better. Our focus these days is dynamic sharing with several on-prem Microsoft applications like SharePoint.""The ability to send logs to a SIEM would be very beneficial.""Most of the time it just works.""For ActiveRoles, it would be good if the product supports multi-scripting language. You can use only VBScript."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is too high for SMBs."
  • "Omada continues to be very competitive on pricing, especially on the Omada cloud product."
  • "The initial total cost of ownership to implement Omada Identity is not small. The TCO for the implementation is as high as any other solution. However, the cost of maintaining the solution is at par or lower than competitors, including adding more features or maintaining the system after the initial deployment or installation to make sure that they are available for users to use or extending the functionalities of those activities. Those maintenance costs are lower than other vendors, but the initial cost of getting the system installed is still high."
  • "It is licensed per managed user per year."
  • "There were a lot of administrator, partner, and supplier accounts for people who were no longer working for us but still in the system. So, we reduced the number of users no longer with the company, which saved us some money on licensing."
  • "It's a fair price for the on-premises system. Compared with what we had before, it's much cheaper and we get all the modules in one. We tried to go with the cloud, but it was far too expensive."
  • "From an on-prem point of view, the cost is quite transparent and reasonable. The direct cost is primarily for licenses and maintenance on licenses."
  • "My client deals directly with the Omada Identity team in terms of licensing. I never look at pricing, so I'm not aware of how much the solution costs, but it's worth the money. Often, when you begin to use Omada Identity and it takes a while to set up, it'll be irreversible, and you'd depend on and focus more on the functionality of the solution, rather than its price tag."

  • "The licensing model is a simple user-based model, not that much complicated."
  • "The price is reasonable. It costs us about 1 million Danish kroner annually, and we also spend about half as much on consultants."
  • "The pricing is on the higher end."
  • "It's fairly priced."
  • "It's expensive."

    Overview

Omada Identity delivers an end-to-end identity and access management solution with essential identity governance functionality for secure, compliant, and efficient administration of all users' access rights across on-premises or cloud-based systems. The solution provides configurable best practice processes that covers all identity and access related scenarios from providing an access risk overview, management of identities lifecycle, to automated enforcement of policies.

The CA Identity Suite provides comprehensive identity management and governance capabilities with a simple, intuitive user experience. This user experience can dramatically simplify processes such as user access requests and access certifications, resulting in improved productivity and user satisfaction. In addition, the CA Identity Suite performs risk analysis and certification and enables remediation actions in real-time during the access provisioning steps, thereby improving audit performance and risk posture with preventive policy enforcement.

While providing these business and governance-centric capabilities for business users, the CA Identity Suite also delivers core enterprise-grade identity management and governance capabilities, including broad provisioning support for on-premise and cloud apps, extensibility and flexibility to integrate with other IT systems and consumer-grade scale. This means organizations are not forced to choose between usability and performance. With the CA Identity Suite, they can have both.

One Identity Active Roles is a highly regarded solution for Active Directory (AD) security and account management. One Identity Active Roles will enhance group, account, and directory management while eradicating the need for manual processes. The end result is a significant increase in the overall speed, efficiency, and security of the organization.

Using One Identity Active Roles, users can:

    • Easily increase and strengthen native attributes of Active Directory (AD) and Azure AD.

    • Quickly unify and automate group and account management while protecting and securing critical administrative access.

    • Free up valuable resources to concentrate on other IT tasks, fully confident that your user permissions, critical data, and privileged access are safe and secure.

Managing accounts in AD and Azure AD can be tremendously challenging; continually keeping these important systems safe and secure presents an even greater challenge. Traditional tools can be inefficient, error-prone, and very disjointed. In today’s robust marketplace, organizations are finding it somewhat difficult to keep pace with the constant access changes in a hybrid AD ecosystem. Additionally, there are significant security issues to consider (government compliance, employee status/access changes, and other confidential business requirements). And, of course, there is a requirement to properly manage Active Directory and Azure Active Directory access in addition to managing all the other numerous SaaS and non-Windows applications that organizations use today.

Users can easily automate all of these tedious, mundane administrative tasks, keeping their systems safe and error-free. Active Roles ensures users can perform their job responsibilities more effectively, more efficiently, and with minimal manual intervention. Active Roles was created with a flexible design, so organizations can easily scale to meet your organizational needs, today, tomorrow, and in the foreseeable future.

    Reviews from Real Users

A PeerSpot user who is a Network Analyst at a government tells us, “It has eliminated admin tasks that were bogging down our IT department. Before we started using Active Roles, if one of our frontline staff members deleted a user or group, it could take several hours to try to reverse that mistake. Whereas now, the most our frontline staff can do is a deprovision, which just disables everything in the background, but it's still there. We can go in and have it back the way it was two minutes later. Instead of it taking two hours, it only takes two minutes.

Becky P., Sr Business Analyst at George Washington University, shares, “In addition, with the use of workflows and the scheduled tasks, we were able to automate and centrally manage a number of the processes as well as utilize them to work around other product limitations. Those include, but are not limited to syncing larger groups, which have 50,000 plus members, to Azure AD. We sync up to Azure AD using ARS. If we had not already had ARS in place, it would have been impossible for us to have done so in the time period we did it in. We did it in under six months. ARS probably saves us at least two weeks out of every month. It's reduced our workload by 50 percent, easily.”
