Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The setup is pretty straightforward.""We have never had any issues with scalability.""The initial setup is pretty straightforward, it's not complex.""The initial setup is really straightforward.""Technical support has been very good. They usually respond quickly to our requests.""It's on the cheaper side and not too expensive for users.""For regular backup and restore solutions, this product is fine.""The most valuable aspect of CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is its instant block replication feature. This allows us to perform live block verification and eliminates the need to concern ourselves with recovery point objectives. This capability is particularly advantageous for critical workloads."

"The interface, dashboard, and pricing are all perfect.""The solution is very scalable. Whenever we grew, it was just a matter of adding new licenses, so it's easy to grow.""The most valuable feature is the user-friendly interface.""We are satisfied with the stability of the product.""I have found the overall features of the solution very good and there is the option to backup to the cloud.""Veritas is simple and easy to deploy. Cons
"I have not seen any areas that need improvement at this time.""The user interface, customer support, and the recovery time for the current customer query could use improvement.""The UI could be a little sleeker.""The only thing I would like to see is, they don't have a formal ticketing system. There is no way I can go back and see what questions we had six months back, what issues we had, and how they were resolved.""Sometimes a server will get a bit behind. ""I would like to see better support for creating and working with archives.""I set up a test, deleted the source, and went to fail it back, and it didn't work.""The bandwidth is a constant upload communication to the AWS DR environment, so if you do not have the proper bandwidth, it will definitely eat up your internet line."

"Something within the software itself isn't quite right. There may be a bug or glitch. It will work fine for weeks and then all of a sudden it just tanks.""We need to have duplication and better compression.""Initial setup is a bit complex and needs some expertise for troubleshooting when something goes wrong.""The initial installation needs some effort.""I would like to improve their ability to back up the cloud environment. Additionally, it would be nice to have simpler UI.""A web console would be great because nowadays a lot of products are web-based and you can access the console from various environments. So I would recommend bringing this feature in the next solution.""It is not a recommended software when it comes to large environments where there has to be a minimal Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and/or Recover Point Objective (RPO).""Expanding is difficult because if I want to add, for example, a terabyte of data, then I have to buy a disk shelf and it will cost me a lot."

    Overview

AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (AWS DRS) minimizes downtime and data loss with fast, reliable recovery of on-premises and cloud-based applications using affordable storage, minimal compute, and point-in-time recovery.

Set up AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery on your source servers to initiate secure data replication. Your data is replicated to a staging area subnet in your AWS account, in the AWS Region you select. The staging area design reduces costs by using affordable storage and minimal compute resources to maintain ongoing replication. You can perform non-disruptive tests to confirm that implementation is complete. During normal operation, maintain readiness by monitoring replication and periodically performing non-disruptive recovery and failback drills. If you need to recover applications, you can launch recovery instances on AWS within minutes, using the most up-to-date server state or a previous point in time. After your applications are running on AWS, you can choose to keep them there, or you can initiate data replication back to your primary site when the issue is resolved. You can fail back to your primary site whenever you’re ready.

Veritas Backup Exec is a unified data backup and recovery solution designed for small to midsize businesses. The software offers data protection for customers whether the data exists in physical, virtual, or cloud environments. Its main purpose is to ensure your business-critical data is never at risk of being lost, stolen, or corrupted.

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Veritas Backup Exec users.

An IT Network Analyst at a manufacturing company says, “The backup potential of the solution is very good. It's protected us in the past very well and allowed us to get up and running after an attack with minimal loss. As far as if we need to restore a file, the solution absolutely has improved the way our organization functions. It saves us a lot of time. We're backing up all of our servers with it.”

PeerSpot user Masoud G., Senior Network Administrator at MapnaBE, mentions, “I prefer to use a tape library and Veritas Backup Exec is fully compatible with different tape libraries. So I prefer this software. It also has easy user and file recovery.”

Kayode O., Chief Technology Officer at a tech company, explains, “This solution creates a differential backup to reduce storage requirements. This solution is not complex and you do not have to be too technical to use it. Veritas offers granular restore, which is an option that many other solutions do not have. It allows you to restore, for example, a single SharePoint document, rather than an entire site.”

Rowland G., Product Brand Manager at Epsidon Technology Distribution, states, “The one thing for the last 12 months which has been very good for Veritas was the instance-based license. This means that you're able to license per instance, not only per physical server. And also, the incremental backup which they introduced for virtual servers, where it makes it much quicker to restore, it just automatically is able to mount it back to the original backup. This makes it much quicker when you're doing the restore.”
