Find out what your peers are saying about Dell Technologies, NetApp, Pure Storage and others in All-Flash Storage."The technical support is very good."
"Data deduplication is one feature I found to be the most valuable in the tool...Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"They have really good baked in analytics to show you trends for growth history, so it does help with future planning for data growth."
"The most valuable feature of the Pure Storage Flash Array is the blazing fast monitoring."
"The stability of Pure Storage is very very good."
"We find the ease of usability and setup valuable."
"FlashArray has many valuable features. It's very user-friendly and it has high availability, so there is comparatively less downtime. During maintenance, there is no shutdown procedure, so you can directly power off the Array and manage the shutdown process without any data loss, which is a unique feature. Managing replication and data migration is also very easy."
"It is pretty much just plug and play. There is not that much to do with it. It is very easy to use."
"I like how it separates the iSCSI drives from the standard shares. It has two different routes to it. I know most of the other solutions do this, but I just like the way that Dell EMC does it."
"I like that the solution is scalable. The initial setup is not complex. The basic licenses and software are included in the package. he primary advantage is that this product has been thoroughly tested and proven over time. I recommend this product."
"Storage Snapshots have been really nice. They allow us to do backups without impacting our production workload that much. The scalability, the ability to add disks dynamically and adjust our workload as needed, has also been really helpful. That definitely makes my job easier. And the interface for managing Unity is very easy. The integrations between VMware Hypervisor and Dell EMC are top-notch, so it's been really easy to use and manage."
"Setup is simple."
"It's easy to manage. We access it and manage it through Unisphere and have had no issues. We're able to provision storage, create consistency groups, create RDMs for our virtual machines. Creating it through Unisphere, it automatically adds the data store on the VMware side and rescans the LUNS. We just have to add and configure the storage in one place and it takes care of everything, which is very handy."
"It's the simplicity part of it. It's the ease of management, it's the call home, the CloudIQ functionality. It's all built in. I think Dell EMC has put a lot of thought into it."
"It is nice the way ESRS works with remote support, being able to remote in and take a look at problems proactively."
"We can get almost real-time response times."
"It allows compute and storage to operate separately, and has the ability to take SAN nodes out of production for maintenance with little effort and zero downtime."
"Data is stored in two different places, leveraging more security and availability. Therefore, network problems are having less affect on iSCSI."
"The solution's most valuable aspect is that it is hardware independent."
"Thin provisioning lets us get the most value from the hard drives."
"All of the administrative tasks are easy and everything is centralized."
"I guess on the top of the list is certainly ease of use."
"It's very stable and it's easy to use."
"StoreVirtual is that it is our software-defined solution and it's everywhere."
"I recognize it's a difficult challenge, but I would like to see them make the pricing more reasonable."
"Pure Storage FlashArray could improve some aspects. There are certain features that are good and there are some features that I see some issues with at the technical level. Those issues are related to replication. They need to resolve those issues, which I have already highlighted to the Pure team. Additionally, there are some issues in the active cluster that could improve."
"There are many features which need to be added, particularly on the replication side."
"The scalability of the solution is not as good as it probably could be."
"Historical analytics would be useful. At the moment, they don't have any type of application built for historical analytics."
"They are doing some stuff with containers and an object search. These could be improved, because containers is one of the main topics that we are talking with our customers about."
"Most of our upgrades have not been as smooth as they should have been."
"The way Pure Storage does the controller storage warranty or replacement has been an issue for some people who just replace the controllers every couple of years, and that's where some of the confusion with pricing and support has come in. They should be clear on the way the controller replacements happen, as it is important to know whether or not you can get a good return on them, because it can be a little confusing."
"The support team is well-versed in the AMG solution, having received comprehensive training. They also boast strong partnerships in both VNAM and Korea. The system's user-friendliness is a primary consideration in their choice of solution, emphasizing the importance of service. They place a strong emphasis on service, occasionally requiring approvals. However, with full installations, they have achieved almost uniformity. Their storage approach differs from a consolidated business-based model; instead, it is application-centric. Their investment in solutions is geared towards specific needs, such as the banking or information system, acquiring smaller storage units individually."
"We noticed in the last release of code that there were some inefficiencies around getting our data efficiency up in terms of dedupe and compression."
"It's not as reliable as it should be, I think it was probably released a little early. We've had production problems with customers, and there are still some challenges at scale as well. Compression is a problem for the system. Once you enable dedupe and compression, the performance of the system, the capability, halves... It has to be right-sized and sized for compression, but even with that, because there are only two storage processors, you're ending up at almost 40 percent usage."
"There's always room for improvement with the UI. That can be a little cumbersome at times."
"Having more artificial intelligence tools built into the solution would be a great benefit. This would allow us to see more about the workloads and higher visibility, such as performance degradation."
"It's very frustrating that it's not backward-compatible with the previous platforms, so it's a struggle for a lot of our customers."
"A customer had to buy VMX because Unity didn't have WORM."
"This solution would be improved with the addition of flexible raid volumes."
"In our country, Qatar, most of the industry isn't using too much HP. StoreVirtual doesn't move fast. It's not a popular product."
"One of the areas that need improvement is the consolidated management platform, to manage all of the nodes from one place and the licensing around that."
"The initial setup could be simplified to make it easier for new users."
"I would like to have this solution easily integrate with VMware."
"It would be nice if there were more parts available in Brazil and HPE could swap out faulty equipment quicker."
"The management aspect of the solution needs to be improved in order to make the product stronger."
"it would nice to have deduplication or compression, things that you have in some of the higher end products."
"Configuration of application integrated snapshots for VMware is convoluted and it did not work immediately."
