We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We are satisfied with the parameters of Google Cloud Storage.""I have more than enough personal storage and have had no security issues.""From an availability perspective it's fantastic; from a security perspective it's fantastic.""I could store any type of file using the solution.""The combination of Firebase features, including storage, the Firebase database, and authentication, has been the most valuable. Firebase offers Google authentication, which is convenient for our needs. Additionally, Firebase provides email authentication and Gmail authentication, which are easy to set up and integrate into our applications.""The solution operates in the background and it is attached to my Gmail account. When I download files to my phone, such as pictures, they automatically go to Google Cloud Storage.""It's easy to use.""Google Cloud Storage includes Docs, calendar, Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Meet."

"The fact that you can get a person on the phone has just been fantastic.""The virtual machine configuration tool is very helpful for setting up a new server or for modifying an existing server.""The most valuable features are the simple scalability and ease of starting a new virtual machine.""Service availability is the most valuable feature. It gives every user 100 percent uptime.""The solution integrates easily.""The number one thing we like about Linode isn't necessarily a service, it's their support. We've found their support to be absolutely fantastic. They've been so outstanding with their support. Every single time we call them and we ask for advice or help, they go above and beyond and it's really made us appreciate what they do.""When I started using Linode, I found its functionality easy to navigate, user-friendly and responsive to my needs. It provides clear reminders about services I'm not using, like DNS zones, which I appreciate.""The simplicity by which you can handle your inventory is one of the things I like the most."

Cons
"The solution could improve by adding an automatic removal of duplications feature.""The problem I face right now is that my data warehouse is being hosted on Google Cloud, however, integration between Google Cloud to Microsoft Azure is a big problem.""Google Cloud Storage could be improved if they provided more free storage for free accounts.""An area for improvement is that when you share with others, they can see all your folders instead of just those you share. Only the folders you specifically share should be visible.""Its security should be better from the data security point of view. It should be more secure, and it should get tightly integrated with products such as Google Docs and Google Sheets. Microsoft covers different kinds of tools such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.""The tool should be cheaper.""The licensing fees could be reduced.""I don't find the solution very user-friendly."

"One thing that I'd really like to see is auto-scaling node pools for their Kubernetes. I don't think that they have that. That's a huge one and would be very helpful. Specifically, what I would like is auto-scaling node pools that would scale down to zero nodes, which is tricky. That's very important for certain use cases.""Everything is up-to-date for a small business. But for big business, they need to improve certain things. For example, there should be better security.""I would like to see more seamless integration with backup, although it's pretty easy to do.""It would be nice if they had more data centers in Latin America.""They could have more international servers. There are certain places throughout Europe and Eastern Europe which are very open to doing a lot of technology business, such as Romania. Romania is very open to technology. At other service providers, I have stuff in Romania. I think there are some Eastern European locations that would be more open to it. So, if they could have more European points of presence, that would be more helpful.""They don't have role-based access control, which is problematic for us.""They recently changed the web interface and although the older one did not look as good, the new one is less responsive.""It's not really an issue with Linode itself but upgrading Linux major versions can be challenging. It would be be fantastic if Linode developed a way to ease transitioning to a major new Linux upgrade."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "They know that the pricing is comparable with Azure, AWS, and those other solutions like Amazon are cheaper, but they are not as flexible."
  • "Better pricing would be helpful."
  • "Its price is fine."
  • "It's about nearly $10,000 USD to use the services on GCP, however, Google gave us a good deal which is why we originally went with them."
  • "The solution is free."
  • "They have recently changed their pricing structures, it used to be free but now it is a paid service. However, I am on a monthly subscription and the price is reasonable."
  • "The price could be cheaper."
  • "The price of the license could be cheaper. We are on an annual subscription."

  • "I pay just over £20 per month and have done so ever since I started eight years ago, which to me is good value."
  • "The pricing model is very simple. I like the simplicity of it, starting at $5, then doubling as it goes up from there. That is a brilliant idea, and it is not complex at all. It is about as dead simple as you can imagine. So, if you want to double what you have, then you double your price, pay the money, and reboot. It is done. It's that simple. You can't beat that."
  • "One key difference is that pricing is very hard to come by and to understand with all the bigger companies. Their pricing models are so weird and it's hard to figure out exactly how much I am going to pay for this kind of service. Everything is piecemeal. With Linode, it's simple and straightforward. You know exactly what you will have to pay at the end of the day."
  • "Compared to other service providers, like AWS and Google, the cost of services are much less and more affordable. We are saving about 90 percent by going with Linode versus other cloud providers."
  • "The pricing model is very simple. If you have very small applications, you can use the plan which costs $5 per month. That gives you 50 GB of memory and almost 1 GB of RAM. If you need more than you have to select the next plan which is $10 per month, which has about 70 GB of data and 2 GB of RAM."
  • "The value for the price is really good."
  • "Pricing is very good and flexible, according to the resources required."
  • "Being that they are small, their prices are slightly higher than the large providers like Amazon if you compare raw computing power."
