The backup is automated as well, so the appliance is quite good.""We get templates, so it's speed to delivery for us. It's a big difference with the template features.""OneView provides a single console, which is manageable without physical access.""Deploys faster new virtual services.""We also have the 3PAR and the GUI is almost the same. So the recognition is very good.""The solution's initial setup process was easy...The technical support is good...It is a stable product, and we will use it for a long time.""The best part is that you can integrate a two-way network. Earlier we could not manage the storage and ToR switch. Now we can create a LAN with our storage without any interface. In terms of switch management, it is now easy to understand the current configuration. It provides centralized management. It provides a single pane, and you can easily do all updates in one shot. It is a great product."

Cons
"There was a feature called HPE cloud manager, but now it is owned by Micro Focus. HPE should make a cloud optimizer again.""We've had issues, for example, with RAM.""HPE OneView should be able to cover more device models apart from ProLiant and Synergy.""It's a little slow sometimes. Overall, I think it does what it's supposed to do. I think that as they evolve it, it'll get quicker.""I had some minor difficulties with upgrading, but the solution still works fine.""The network configuration part of HPE OneView needs improvement. The solution has way too many features, and there's a need for proper configuration indicators to be put in place.""The solution could add storage, integration services, and end-to-end support for Cisco switches or other competitor products.""It would be better if we can add every HPE device to OneView, such as MSA, as well as the other servers like the DL server and ML server."

Additionally, if there was automatic reporting it would be helpful.""The reporting part should be made simpler. While we can obtain all the reports we need, we always have to create work-arounds to get them.""The scalability of Nagios XI is scalable. However, it is not easy to do.""I would like to be able to extend it to all of our data centers, whether they are in the cloud or not. It would be helpful if I could connect everywhere.""They need more documentation for the plugins."

I have researched a quite a few network monitoring tools which can be used for various monitoring purposes of not only the servers, but the intermediate routers as well. There are majorly three types of these softwares. Ones which are completely open-source, you can do almost anything you want using these, but they require quite some expertise before you can use them. Then there are the ones that are not open source, the enterprise softwares and cost you some money, but on the other hand, they are extremely easy to set-up and learn. You can have them up and running in a matter of minutes. And then there are those which are completely cloud based. They can be free of cost or charge some money depending on the software. The good thing about these is that you don’t have to install any extra software, and it can be managed completely online but then again these have limited features and you cannot exploit them to the full extent as you can do with the open-source and to some extent the enterprise software, so I won’t suggest you to use these, because these are generally not the complete solutions and require other support software to achieve the same. Below I have listed the outstanding pros and cons of the various Network analyzers that you can look into Nagios Pros: Nagios offers an extensive set of collector plug-ins that allows users to gather performance and availability data from a broad range of operating systems, including  Windows and Netware Nagios… Read more →
