We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"App Connect's best feature is that it can be deployed in a container.""Provides good security features.""I would say that the most valuable feature is the array of connectors and integration tools.""When using IBM stacks, IBM App Connect is suitable and integrates well with other IBM products like WebSphere.""I like the adapters. The adapters help us achieve scalability. If you want to connect to SAP, there's an adapter. Salesforce? There's an adapter. You want to connect to another system? There's likely an adapter for that.""There is a friendly interface for configuration, and integration is made easy.""The most valuable feature is the security.""We use IBM App Connect for the integration between the applications."

"The solution is very user-friendly and easy to understand.""They're very competitive in terms of performance, which is a good selling point. It has very rich features. It provides a very rich feature set in the application.""I like the way that you can use the context variables, and how you can work those context variables to give you values and settings for every development environment, such as PROD, TEST, and DEV.""The solution can run on any machine and that is a big advantage.""The availability of connectors is great.""The features that I like the most are the simplicity of the interface, and the ability to quickly develop with a predefined component.""We can develop our own code if we do not see the functionality we need.""The most valuable features of the Talend Data Management Platform are the components."

Cons
"The user interface of IBM App Connect can be a little bit more user-friendly, I would say because the first-time developer is onboarded while using IBM App Connect, he or she may get a little intimidated or daunted looking at all the options available or the pipelines, et cetera.""More connectors could be available for the product as some of the third-party software doesn't have default connectors.""It is not easy to deploy. It requires someone with a high level of knowledge in the solution to deploy it, not just anyone can do it.""They reply in one or two hours at most, but they could be better.""One more important point is that if IBM improves its CI/CD capabilities, it will make a big difference. Right now, I have to create my own CI/CD setup from scratch for every client, which is inefficient.""Plugins for the repositories are difficult to find.""IBM App Connect is scalable. From the administration side, they need to improve the RBAC model, as well as the clustering of this product. It will be good if we can start up the cluster, via IBM Connect Console. Some other products like MuleSoft, are providing this type of administration. MuleSoft is easy to use and user friendly.""When we do a version upgrade of the system, the platform is kind of complicated."

More IBM App Connect Cons →

"The sales and market department could improve the Talend Data Management Platform.""Performance and speed could be improved.""Once you get past the basic tools, it gets pretty complicated.""I would like to sync a project and do an upload from that current version, and then from GitLab, be able to download the latest one.""The product must enhance the data quality.""I think they should drive toward AI and machine learning. They could include a machine-learning algorithm for the deduplication.""Including either XML or JSON in the next release would definitely be a good transformation. I'm not sure if Talend has that feature, but it's one of those requirements that we are working around and have to do some parsing of XML so this could make it easier.""The documentation from version to version could be more accurate."
